An Open Letter to all Makati City Hall employees, yes, including OIC-Mayor Kid Peña.
The suspensión order has been served and Mayor Junjun has already left the city hall premises. Now OIC Mayor Kid Peña is currently performing his duties as the acting mayor. Thank you for your effort to serve the people of Makati. By the way, it was a nice gesture of putting your office at the ground floor of the building. Now this is an appeal to all Makati City Hall employees, may we request that we too, should do business as usual despite all the fiasco that happened this past week. Yes, Mayor Junjun is still our mayor but he is suspended. And by obedience of the law, the Vice Mayor has to perform the functions of his suspended Mayor. It just so happened that Kid Peña is the Vice Mayor. But regardless of his political party or stand, he won the vice mayoral election. I am calling out all city hall employees, let us not be consumed by our political mindsets that Kid Peña is on the other side. The Vice Mayor wants to serve his people. Let us support him. I believe that Kid Peña too, is on the side of serving the people of Makati. We should set aside our personal feelings and differences for the service of the taxpayers. This fiasco at the cityhall should not affect our service to the people. Many of the services in Makati is either pending or delayed because we are so much affected by this incident. But is this our top most concern? Should we be serving the people of Makati under the leadership of Kid Peña? Let us not be this closed minded. Let us always consider the welfare of the many rather than the agenda of the few. Let the lawyers and legal counsel of Mayor Junjun do their jobs. As for us employees, let us do our jobs as well. Remember that taxpayers money give you these jobs, not Mayor Junjun. As for OIC Mayor Kid Peña, I am with you in your endeavors to serve us. May you also set aside your political agenda and rather serve us with a generous and non-selective disposition.
