Junktext
Teaching artist Jake Reber taught the young writers about junk writing today. They wrote their own spam email which turned out to be very comical. He also encouraged them to put a poem they wrote into google to see what ads popped up, and then included those ads as footnotes in the poem, inspired by Mimi Cabell and Jason Huff’s project in response to Ellis’ “American Psycho”. One of the young writers Sydney said “The workshop was really fun, hearing everybody else’s spam ideas made me laugh so much it hurt.” His next workshop will be this Thursday 9/21 where the young writers will explore more junktext!
