So is it Athena or Athene? Or is it kinda like the Apollo/Apollo thing?

I don’t Greek very well, but my understanding is there’s a question of spelling vs pronunciation. @junoinfernas graciously puts up with me frequently going “help how does this work” about Greek language (and Greek everything else) questions  ^^

“Theoi” is plural: confirm/deny, Greek-speaking friends? because maybe I misunderstood something along the way

I have “Theos” in my head as singular, but I don’t actually know if that’s gender-indicative or correct at all for that matter

1. I’m not easily intimidated. This means I don’t take any shit but it also means I’ve got to know a lot of lovely people who are accidentally intimidating or awkward.

2. I can think in other languages. I think this is really important for understanding the world and showing respect for others, and you can learn so much from people when they speak in their own language, but I know languages are difficult for some people so I’m very lucky that I can learn them quickly :)

3. I’m very loyal and I’m proud of that.

junoinfernas and eupheme-butterfly, y’all are my “help how do I Greek” saviors, so I summon you now for an extremely nitpicky question:

There’s a bajillion epithets of the Theoi relating to places they were worshiped. If I wanted to create/start using similar epithets based on places here, in the US, do y’all have any suggestions for how would I form those epithets? As in, I’ve got a city named Lafayette; would I say Hekate Lafayette? It’s an exceedingly French name; it doesn’t Greek up very well. And also I don’t know any of the conjugation/declension/word-form-y rules for Greek. 

I could just say “Hekate of Lafayette” or “the Lafayette Hekate”, but those both seem unwieldy to me. I am very picky about a language I don’t even speak!  x.x
