Puzzle #14: Ones and Fours
The puzzle this week is a 14×14 grid based off of Nikoli’s puzzle type Juosan, but I’ve relaxed a clue constraint to fit my theme.
Fill in each cell with a horizontal or vertical bar. (Two horizontal bars have been provided.)
In each region enclosed by bold borders, there may be a number. When there is a number, it must equal the number of cells filled with horizontal bars, or the number of cells filled with vertical bars. (Or possibly both, in the case where a region’s number is exactly half of its area.)
Horizontal bars may stretch across any number of cells horizontally, but may not extend more than two cells vertically.
Vertical bars may stretch across any number of cells vertically, but may not extend more than two cells horizontally.
The shading is purely aesthetic; it does not add any constraint to the puzzle. Note again that two cells have already been filled with horizontal bars.
Please enjoy!
