SWF seeks... no thought.
Mondays were meant for as little thinking as possible. That's when I love wearing things that I just know will work. No thought necessary.
I could not tell you when I last wore these shoes. It might be somewhere in the two-years-ago range. Somehow I got a shoe/bag closet out of this new house deal. This means my footwear is more organized and accessible than it's ever been. So I pulled these suckers out and gave them a shot.
Wise choice. They're comfortable, which for me, is synonymous with no thinking. Monday seemed much more doable after I got dressed.
And showered. A shower makes a big difference. Clearly not in that order.

SWF seeks... more light.
Just when it seems I couldn't carry the oppressive darkness of winter any longer, I start to notice the faintest blue in the mornings. I realize the skyline is illuminated a little longer at night. The setting sun starts to linger a bit on the horizon as I crest the hill making me fumble for my sunglasses.
Spring is coming. And not a moment too soon. Who's with me?
PS: If you're in Pittsburgh, I hope you'll join me next Saturday for a private shopping party at Madewell.

SWF seeks... the infinity scarf.
Every few months or so, I feel compelled to add a new scarf to the mix. I adore scarves. They add just the right amount of dimension to any outfit. Wearing a simple white T-shirt and jeans? Add a scarf and BOOM, you have an interesting ensemble. It's a finish. It's the period at the end of a sentence. It's the brown sugar crumble on an apple pie.
You get what I mean.
This particular scarf is an infinity scarf. I love how versatile it is. You can wear it doubled, tripled, as a snood or as a wrap. It's fantastic. You can pick one up at Jupe Boutique or Jupe's brand new sister store in Lawrenceville, Panello.

As I sat here thinking about what I want to say about the infinity scarf, I realized something. I originally thought it was called an infinity scarf because it never ends, sort of like a circle. But this particular scarf is twisted. So if you look at it, it's in the shape of the symbol for infinity. So...
SWF seeks... so kimono FTW!
This 'kimono' piece is actually a robe gifted to me by Alaina at my bachelorette party. While it's a lot of fun to get sex toys and raunchy lingerie, I'm not the sort of gal who enjoys wearing those itty bits on a regular basis. I never would have thought of giving a gal a really beautiful robe, but in the end, it's pieces like these that are so much sexier. I wore this robe every day when The Husband and I honeymooned in DR. The suggestion was what made it sexy.
Alaina inspired me to do the same for Ashley when she got married. Ashley loved hers so much, she wore it the day of her wedding as she was getting ready. Her husband, John, even texted me when he saw the robe to thank me, saying that he felt like it was more a gift for him than Ashley. That's when you know you've done the right thing.

SWF seeks... Jupe Boutique's Style My Closet.
This edition of Jupe Boutique's Style My Closet Suitcase features the ever lovely Morgan. She lost her mind and drove to Pittsburgh last weekend. We had to take full advantage of her time here, which of course involved stopping in at a few of my favorite spots. Jupe. Duh.
You would initially think styling out of a suitcase would be difficult but I had the advantage of picking some of my favorite pieces from Morgan's wardrobe off of her blog. It was a little cheaty mccheaterson but this is my blog so NYAH.
Ok, that was rude. I'm sorry. Let's try to move past that, okay?
We chose to style this shear Mink Pink polka dot blouse. This sort of sleeveless collared piece has the potential to conjure images of mommy at a backyard BBQ in cotton capris. But the sheerness of the blouse combined with the right pieces will make it look subtly sexy.
Morgan's take... makes me think 2nd date drinks into late night whatever.
My take is more like 2 pm beers on a sunny day at Double Wide. Photos after the jump!
This was one of my favorite shoots. I would definitely wear both of these ensembles, and was actually thinking white skinny jeans if Morgan didn't choose them. What do you think?

Meet Jen.
She's one of my South Side gal pals. Jen has a closet stuffed full of clothes. But she's found herself stuck wearing the same things over and over. I couldn't wait to get my hands on her.
This month, we're using an MM Couture linen draped front vest from Jupe Boutique. For those who don't know, Jen will take this piece and style it using her own clothes without any help from me. And then I will style it using Jen's clothes exclusively.
This is the sort of piece that can be layered with all sorts of other things. It can be dressed up just as easily as it can be dressed down. Jen decided to pair the vest with jeans, a black tee, black flats and her Ray Bans. A great ensemble for a Saturday of going to the market and maybe grabbing a quick lunch with friends.
See how I jazzed this piece up after the jump!
You know I love color, and Jen has a ton of it in her closet. But she tends to stick with neutrals. If you're going to keep your clothes in the black, white and oatmeal palette, funk up the entire look with punchy accessories and shoes. You'll take your ensemble to a whole new level. Of course I stacked way too many bangles on one arm. I just love how bold it looks!
What do you think? How would you style this piece?
Vest: Available at Jupe Boutique All other pieces: Jen's own (Except the round sunnies. Those are mine!)
