Megan took her seat at a table by the window. Laying the plate and coffee cup down in front of her she looked out over the street, the smile very evident on her lips as relief over her hospital check up going well filled her with a warm glow. Oz had returned to work while she decided to reward herself and as she scooped up some of the chocolate cake onto her fork she felt a shadow fall over her. “Don’t judge me too harshly,” she laughed as she put the cake to her lips.

Am I Willing to Work Things Out?

I'm not going back to a man who has no respect for me, a man who cannot bother to talk to me or give me the truth. I'm not going back to a man who cannot be bothered to put his family's needs before his own wants. I'm not going back to a life of paycheck to paycheck instead of actually saving money to work towards a goal. I'm not going back to someone who sees no reason to romance me because he's already got me. I'm not going back to someone who can't trust me because of his own lying nature. I'm not going back to someone who is going to make me feel guilty about his own decisions. I'm not going back to someone who speaks poorly of me to others and wants to bring me down. I'm not going back to someone who can't keep his word when he gives it. I'm not going to keep giving chances to someone who can't be bothered to treat me and my daughter as though we're worth it from the start. I'm not going to continue to be disrespected by you when you mock me in front of others. I'm not going to continue to be disrespected as you pester my friends and coworkers looking for potential hookups. I'm not going back to a man that would fuck a coworker of mine or himself showing a complete disregard for his own job as well as mine. I'm not going back to a man who feels that it is okay to use money that could be going to supporting his family on sex workers. I am better than everything you've given me and refuse to continue settling because I love you more than you can ever demonstrate that you have even so much as a single care for me. That I did everything that I could to work through the hurt of you having children by someone else and you writing it off as no big deal is in no way something that I could return to. In doing everything that I could to work through times of poverty, times of distress, and times of lies and you consistently continued to lie to me is something that I refuse to return to. I am not going back to a marriage in which the only person working on it is me.
