So the other day on my main blog (@tramp-fiction if you don't follow), I came across a post discussing a star wars related topic. Long story short, someone sourced a moots fanfic as a source to support an argument, dragging the author into a dumpster fire that they had nothing to do with.
And it reminded me of something that happened on this very blog. It's the reason I don't allow you guys to send submissions anymore. So like, someone sent a picture of an excerpt from an interview with Ikeda, on how Andre lost his virginity. She said something along the lines how he probably slept with a prostitute.

It's short and there's not much info. I actually forgot about it soon after. Came as a surprise to one day wake up to a new submission, a letter/essay telling me/Andre (???) that Andre is a r****t. That they had read a fanfic that said the author read an article about how Andre r**ped a prostitute. It went on from that and was a big yikes. Never got hate mail before. And yeah, that fanfic. I read it. Actually had been reading that authors fics for a while. I'm not linking anything as it been a while now. But they totally said they got that information on Tumblr. And as the only person posting that at the time, they got it from me.
So what's the purpose of this post?
DO NOT USE FANFICS AS A SOURCE OF INFORMATION. Fanfiction is not a source for canon materials. It is purely entertainment and should NOT be taken as fact or used to back up an argument. Do not drag author(s) into things. Do not go around accusing people of things based on what you read in a fanfic. If you've read something and aren't sure about if it's canon, Google is free.
Update and housecleaning regarding the Discord server
As you may or may not know, JustAndreThings has a Discord server. And I am sole admin. Unfortunately it is criminally under utilized. There are far to many unused/underused channels leaving the server looking crowed and clutter considering how many of us use it. For info on which channels are subject to deletion by the end of today (Feb 2nd), please visit the announcements channel.
As for users. I have pruned the server. Discord has removed 3 users who haven’t been seen in over 30 days. If this is you, it’s nothing personal, and you can always rejoin if you want. I believe I am ready to open the server to everyone again (after that great troll of 2019). Those interested to join will not have to ask for a one time link anymore (for now).
