I'm watching NGE again with the original English dub and it really changes the vibe of some scenes a lot! I believe some of the translation choices are quite different. I couldn't pick out exact examples but there were a few parts where I was like, "Oh, I don't think that's the same."

Oh, wait! I did think of an example. In the original (ADV, right?) dub, Shinji actually says Misato stole the batteries. In the Netflix dub, he just infers it.

I think Misato is a bigger sex pest in this version lol. I like her VA, though. She gives Misato a very roguish, messy flair. I like both performances, though. I do find Ritsuko far more likable in the orginal dub. I think I prefer the Netflix dub for Shinji, though.

I was just binge watching Inside Job, and I love what I the episodes so far, but I'm right now on ep 6 so far, but is Tamiko supposed to be Ridley's step mother or her biological mother? I'm asking this because:

It's seems weird (especially since Shion Takeuchi herself is Japanese) to cast a white actress as the voice of a non white character.

Are people getting the hots for Steven now?

Like, I’ve only seen a few notes referring to him as attractive and stuff, so it’s definitely not a fandom wide thing, but it’s still weird to see it happen? This is still Steven, who we knew for 6 or so years as a 13-14 year old boy, and who’s design doesn’t really stray far from the pre-timeskip one?

Is it because he’s more irritable now? Is it because Zach Calliston can use his natural voice now? Something else?

As far as I know, most of the comments may be from teens who’re developing a crush, and I’m just paranoid.
