i LOVE how this episode deals with characters adapting to the changing world now that the rings are in it.

gil-galad’s war council begs him to move against adar when the ring tells him to wait. disa struggles with the sacred power to listen to the mountain given to durin iii by the ring that used to belong to the stone singers alone; women who spend their life honing their craft that is a gift given from aulë. durin iv fears the greed that is polluting his father. the rings of power have truly changed everything in middle earth, and that’s a terrifying concept for our characters, and i’m so glad the show is taking the time to explore these ideas and develop them

to add to the gender talk lmao i think obikin is even more special and specific to us mlm/nblm transmascs like for obvious reasons sure but i do think it goes deeper than that in a beautiful loving way that celebrates all types of masculinity and the attractiveness that can be found and explored in them

absolutely!!! i can’t speak for other people, but personally my journey began with symposium for that reason, in that there are different archetypes of attractive masculinity, the golden, handsome, earnest young man and the older, wiser, bearded mentor, each archetype containing a kernel of longing for me to have or be. pretty much all of my writing can been seen to unpack those identities (and the identities they evolve into of course) and the tension between them, exploring my attraction to them and projecting to some degree into both roles. both of them have femininity as well, they are complex and nuanced characters that allow for a wide range of interpretation, that appeals to different people in different ways, and i find that fascinating and precious.

JDBSHHSHAHAJ JDVSUS OH MY GOD... AND THUS STARTS THE MOST PERFECT FAKE DATING AU EVER TO EXIST.... all the students (esp Flayn) are Super Excited to see that they've both found love!! whereas they have to awkwardly pretend that they ARE in love (until they actually do fall in love ofc). it's made MUCH worse, because??? when do they stop fake dating??? When do they stop??? and how??? especially when the ARCHBISHOP HERSELF comes to give them her blessings? absolutely wack.

and of course, since 3H has a canon ball, we need an obligatory dance scene.... hehe...

the above idea is v good!!! but also... i was thinking about the aftermath of chapter 9 the other day, and how Seteth would react to it. or even something fluffier... fishing with Byleth and Flayn, mayhaps
