Electoral Reform Idea

All party primaries will use Approval voting to select the party candidate. This will ensure a more center of the party candidate and decrease the influence of smaller factions.

All candidates running independent of a party will run in an "Independent" primary using the Approval voting rule. Everyone is allowed to vote in the independent primary. This creates a permanent "centrist" party that is devoid of party structure.

All the primary winning candidates run against each other in a single race. If a candidate secures a majority they win.

If no candidate secures a majority, a second round occurs between the candidate with the most votes and the independent candidate.
