The Oceanic Caverns, or the Pacifica Caverns as they are more commonly called, are the strangest and most mysterious caverns in Slugterra. Unlike the other caverns, there is no direct route to the Surface; instead, the only way to enter the Pacifica Caverns is either through the Gateways or, more commonly, by being lost at sea and thrown overboard in a storm. The magic of these caverns seems to permeate the oceans of the Burning World, reaching desperate souls anywhere and spiriting them away, never to return to the world they came from.
Because of this, the Pacifica Caverns have the greatest knowledge of the Surface, greater than even the Northern Caverns that make frequent forays to the Surface.
Life in the Oceanic Caverns is vastly different from life elsewhere underground, with most caverns having only small islands for habitation. Most native sapient species are either aquatic or amphibious, with humans making up the vast majority of islanders. Unlike the other caverns, residents of Pacifica don't sling slugs directly; the vast array of predators in the ocean and limited safe places for them make slugs too valuable to use outside of tournaments. To circumvent this, they have developed a method to harmlessly extract slug energy from slugs and store it in special bullets that, when fired, mimic a single ability of the slug they were made from.
This has ensured that the Pacifica Caverns' weapon technology is more advanced than that of the other Caverns, and has turned proper slugslinging into more of a sport like MMA or Olympic Shooting rather than a way of life, as it is in the other caverns.
Due to the lack of dry land, Pacifica dwellers don't use mecha beasts and rely on armed and armored ships to traverse the seas. With most islands being walkable or at least easy to traverse with wheeled vehicles, the primary land-based transportation is buses or cars capable of off-road travel and fueled by slug energy.
