Bro NEVER confronts his feelings, he constantly invalidates his own emotions in favor of other's. The only time he speaks up is when prompted, and then PUSHED.

Its just the truth, he keeps being funny despite genuinely being banished. Like dude, that's FUCKED up, it's not your responsibility to make people feel better about WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU.

I imagine that in this context 'being gay' is more like being a person, his life was wrecked because he has fucking emotions and thoughts and acted on them. And in this case his 'mother' is probably more like the elders or the undersea in general because he got banished. And No, he WILL NOT recover, his life fucking sucked.

This is just so him saying that he got banished to Chip and Jay. His head feels 'underground' because he was fucking PANICKING. "The joke is gone" they know he's not officially the champion anymore, they know he lied. But they don't care that he got banished, why would they? Gill is their friend, that doesn't change anything. And Gillion is more comfortable, able to be open to them.

His childhood WASN'T a childhood, and every joke or reference he makes simply highlights that. I think in this context the 'you' is us, the viewers. We laugh at the joke, and then realize what the fuck he actually just said and take in how horrible it actually is.

That's what Gillion does. He makes light of bad situations, on the surface for others, but also to try and hide and ignore his past trauma. 'It may not be so funny to you all, But know I am having quite a fucking ball' to me this feels more like behind Gillion, as in it being Charlie. We are all horrified at how horrible Gillion's life was and Charlie always grins whenever we bring it up.

He is traumatized, and I fucking love it. Can you tell?
