As for the past tense of TGW - maybe it's because the actions she's talking about were in the past! If she'd used the present tense vow, then she could use will. I could be wrong, but I don't think the tenses agree if you pair "vowed" and "will". Unless you put the "I will always be yours" as a direct quote.
