Warning: Yandere, implied kidnapping, reader gets injured but not from Izaya
For the first time in a long time, Izaya was conflicted. On one hand, he saw you through the cameras he's set up breaking the locks he put around the apartment to keep you in, betraying the little amount of trust he pretended to have in you.
But one the other hand, he gets to see you! As he's skipping to the south stairwell of the building Izaya can't help but be giddy at how he'll get to see the face you make when you realize you'll never leave him in person, instead of through some impersonal camera.
That doesn't mean you won't be punished for trying to leave. Just because Izaya left you the tools to get out, doesn't mean you should be dumb enough to use them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ten minutes have already passed, he probably knows you've left by now. You were running down the stairs in the stairwell, holding the railing with a tight grip in fear of falling. Trying your best to get out of this stupid apartment complex as fast as your legs would take you.
Passing by a sign that told you that you've arrived on the 6th floor you let out a groan. Almost there, you were almost there.
BANG
Your heart jumps to your throat, the door from a floor above you was dramatically kicked open and you starting running faster.
"Now where do you think you're heading off to again?"
Your skipping steps now, you were no longer holding the railing, just focusing on getting away. One of your legs quickly tangled with the other causing you to tumble through the railing towards the ground. As you were falling you could see from the corner of your eye Izaya looking down at you, walking at a leisurely pace down the stairs. You swear you could see him mockingly holding the railing. Then you reached the first floor.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You don't want to move, it hurts, you really don't but you have to. You want to but you can't. You need to but you don't. He'll get you, he'll never make another mistake like this, never give you the chance to leave again. You need to go, you want to go, you have to go. But to do that you need to move.
Move
Move
Move!
Laying frozen because of overwhelming pain, you couldn’t control your body or thoughts the way you wanted too. The only thing you could feel was a throbbing ache in the lower half of your body and legs. While everything in your head felt muffled, the only thoughts you could muster were prayers that you didn't hit your head.
A few seconds passed till you notice a presence walking up to you.
"Watch out" Izaya said, arms stretched out towards you mocking a warning for something that already happened, "Well look who should have listened when I told them to stay put."
You could barely mutter a fuck you in response.
Izaya responded but you could no longer hear him. You were so dizzy that you could barely focus on his figure, he was just so blurry. They say you need to stay awake if you think you have a concussion but you were just so tired. You already lost right? So you can close your eyes to rest, right?
Before the world went dark you felt Izaya caresse your face and softly say, "You really shouldn't go out without me"
You couldn’t tell if the concern in his voice was genuine or not.

A/N: You can tell I tried some different writing styles and I’m not sure if they work
You just didn’t realize how annoying you were being back then.
How frustrating it was for him to see you laugh with your friends.
How painful it was for you to smile at someone who wasn’t him.
How you acted like you could live without him when he sure as hell couldn’t live without you.
“It’s wasn’t fair, you know it’s wasn’t fair for me right sweetheart?” Izuku mutter against your skin, tracing the outline of your gagged lips.
Your eyes are so beautiful like this, glistening from tears under the light of whatever rusty old room he’s trapped you in. You were so beautiful like this, in a place where no one could take you away, where you could hold him and love him like you were meant to.
But even when things were so perfect they weren’t. Even now when he’s doing his best to softly hold you and trying to make you feel as happy as he was with you here. You still had to act like some two face bitch by flinching with every movement his hands made across your skin.
Izuku doesn’t understand. Even away from the rest of the world with only him, the only person to rely on, you still don’t want him.
Why?
He’s the one who worked so hard for this
He’s the one who loves you
He’s the one who was suffering
So how dare you still look at him like that?

Standing in the corner of the room you accidentally made eye contact with an older woman whose face seemed a bit familiar. She smiled and you awkwardly tried to mimic to be polite. It's when she started to make her way over that you recognized her as the woman Payton was ignoring earlier in the night. Now it seems she's set her eyes on bothering someone else.
She smiled, "You looked wonderful tonight".
After a bit of a pause, you slowly nodded, avoiding her eyes. Your plan to avoid social interactions already crumbled when you tried to not come off as rude but you can still do your best to appear unapproachable so she could leave.
You're not the one who talked to her, she clearly came to you. Payton couldn't possibly be mad at you for-
"Cockroaches all of them" She hissed while straitening your outfit for the night. She was holding your arm so tight that her blue nails were starting to leaves marks. Payton tisked, mumbling how she would need to cover those too.
She seemed so frustrated when she found out she couldn't just ditch this event like she as all the others. "Don't talk to anyone, don't look at anyone. I don't need my face in some shitty tabloid because my partner is so incompetent they can't handle themselves in public."
-releasing a sigh, you had to remind yourself that yes actually, she could.
The older woman was still trying to make conversation so you continued to do your best to keep your head down and mouth shut during most of it. You're not stupid, just because you're alone doesn't mean you couldn't feel Payton's eyes on you.
As if she'll ever trust you enough to leave you “unsupervised”.
Sneaking a glance across the room you could see Payton talking to a director she admitted to wanting to work with. For someone who hated social events, it was ironic that her work forced her to go to so many of them.
"I thought it was a good idea but everyone else disagrees, I mean how wrong could it be to consider an Indie film as-"
Shit, you tuned her out, you're trying to come off as tired and unapproachable, not as rude. Sure you can't talk to her but that doesn't mean you can offend her either. She could cause a scene and you could end up trapped in your room for another month for attracting attention without a chance to explain yourself.
Acrylic blue nails softly placed themselves on your shoulder catching both your and the older women's attention. "They're idea of what makes a good movie is just so skewed isn’t it?” Payton intervened from behind you, taking you into a hug.
It wasn't constricting, so she must not be mad, either you did well by not talking or she got what she wanted from that director she was talking to earlier so she’s in a good mood.
Pulling you towards the dance floor Payton shoots the other women a sharp smile, "I'm sorry but do you think I could steal them for a sec? I'm getting lonely by myself and I remember them saying they to wanted dance before we left"
Before the older women could answer we were already gone.
The music playing was calm so the dance was more of a back and forth sway than actually dancing. It matched the theme of the night quite well when you think about it. The event was meant to reaffirm past connection and possibly make new ones, so a piece of calm quiet music was perfect for people to talk to each other but still not be in complete silence.
Or that's what you were thinking to convince yourself to ask Payton if she could bring you out more. Even if it was a boring event like this it was better than nothing. You got to be around other people and with time she might let you talk to them.
Fitting you into her chest Payton said, "Stop squirming, I don't remember bringing a child"
"Sorry"
She took your face into her hands, still swaying with you. Softly outlining your eyes with her nails. "Don't be so stressed, I talked to everyone I needed to tonight so after this, we can just go home"
"But-"
"And we won't be forced to be in the presence of any of these pests ever again"

Payton is an oc of mine and I’m planning on writing more for her in the future! If you have any question or something unclear, you can always ask.
