It just annoyed me how it suddenly shifted from this interesting and creepy concept to "oh this is magic stuff" like??? It took the wind out of the sails

YEP this was my exact complaint with the game, the sudden tonal shift it makes halfway through just completely fucks with you and not in a Good way, and then iirc towards the end it tries to scramble some semblance of the creepy atmosphere it had going for it but it just winds up like a bad taste in your mouth and it just- GOD!!!!!
