some highlights of th sparc session - the kids there are ADVANCED in memes and usage of them. theres only 7 or so of them but literally all of them - "have you accomplished anything today?" "i still respect women" this kid was 14 hsdfghk - we had to do an activity where every1 writes down an ("appropriate!!") song on a piece of paper, 1 is randomly chosen and played on th big screen, and we focus on a certain part of th song only, like the piano or the harmonies.. - so obviously two of th kids gasp and get the idea to put a minecraft parody song........ - eye..... of the spider.... - its a masterpiece and i nd a few others almost cried with laughter but all of us agreed that it is honestly legit impressive how much editing and effort the kid in the video put into the song - there was a new intern the same day i got in and he is so nice!! his name is lucas and i think he was a little flustered on his first day but i can tell he enjoys the stupid jokes n gets them but also sincerely enjoys helping - i was commended for taking on a communication activity the best out of any groups th the therapist had seen that day!! - th kids thought so too and that was nice - they had snacks like chips n water bottles for u to get anytime throughout the session but they also had stress balls n shit - i honestly felt so so comfortable (next to no anxiety aside from speaking but that also went away fairly quickly) despite it being my first day and being around strangers which generally gives me more anxiety and that is very important to me - th look my mom gave me when she saw me come down the hallway once it was over, and when she burst into a cheer and gave me a tight hug once we were alone in the elevator and i had told her it had gone well - they understand (by they i mean EVERYONE like both the kids the therapists and i imagine most if not all the staff by extension) of the Neurotypical(tm) struggle .. not people offering real advice but the people saying "just smile" and "just be happy!" etc etc - i laughed a lot and so did everyone else and that felt really really nice
