I REALLY really like this, as opposed to the ones where she’s fully clothed and carrying these sanitized pink cupcakes on a plate like they have nothing to do with her personal agony.

Thank you - yea I was trying very hard not to do “cake boobs” (there actually is somewhere that commerates her with cakes shaped like boobs fyi.) Mainly this started as me laughing cause men ages over never know how breasts work but got darker the more I read her story. So yea - wanted to make it look unpleasant and painful - also show her surviving. (traditionally her story has her surviving torture, rape, her breasts being torn off, and being saved from burning at the stake all for turning a dude down, even for saints its a doozy of an origin)

Re: the rowing team, the woodworking instructor is an alumnus or alumna, and offers bonus credits to particularly skilled students for working on the boats. They're old-school, not much fiberglass involved (they do have lighter fiberglass boats for away competitions), and there's some really interesting woodwork - and some really interesting wood - involved in the hull construction.

In the right light it looks a lot like many faces.

Love love love your university! Are there ever Titania-and-Oberon-style squabbles about a particularly charming or gifted student, and if so what evidence, if any, would the folks in the human aspect of the campus see of it?

The hapless student is showered in increasingly absurd gifts and then vanishes entirely. From the perspective of, say, Lydia’s roommate, you would see Lydia go from finding sweet little notes and perfectly ripe strawberries on the windowsill, to watching her try on a bracelet that makes the air around her shimmer like a kaleidoscope when she laughs, to watching apple blossom petals flutter down around her every time she walks into the dorm room. And then she’s gone and things are Bad on campus for a little while before it smooths out. You may or may not see Lydia again.

(The true Royalty, however, don’t play these games. If everyone is very, very lucky, the Royalty will never notice Elsewhere university at all.)

Tickly cough is a dry hack that accomplishes nothing. Chesty cough is a wet-sounding cough that tends to bring up glop, or at least feels like it should.

Good to know! I’ve also been advised that ice cream is a cure for this problem so I’ve taken that to heart and acquired some B&J’s Caramel Chew Chew to eat straight out of the tub.

Purely for medicinal purposes, obviously.
