“Do you think he crashed the car on purpose?”
"Oh shit!" War was walking back towards the washing machine when she saw bubbles foaming out of the doorway. "Connor!?" She ran over to the laundry room and saw the whole room was filled with foamy bubbles that seemed to be coming from the washer. "Oh god...Connor? Are you in there?" She had just left for a few minutes to answer the phone. She didn't mean to leave the poor kid alone for that long. Apparently when the instructions on the bottle said only one cap full it meant ONE cap full. Pushing aside some of the bubbles she tried to find the younger Alpha. "Uh...Marco? Connor if you're in here say Polo."
@justaskbrooklyn said: He was no longer able to keep his composure upon seeing War approaching the helicopter. "War...I'm so sorry." How could he ever apologize for this? "Connor...I couldn't save him. I'm sorry."
Connor? No. Nonononono...not Connor. Anyone but Connor. He wasn't even supposed to be on that mission. He was supposed to stay on base. Why did he get on that helicopter? Connor never wanted to fight. He didn't deserve this...that kid deserved to have a life and a family. Her jaw tightened at the thought of the joyful, smiling boy laying dead in the dirt with glassy eyes starring up at nothing. No. God, why couldn't it have been her? She deserved to die more than anyone. War bowed her head and looked at the ground for a moment. Tears began to form in the corner of her eyes and threatening to fall....and then she exploded.
"You were supposed to watch out for him! You were supposed to keep him safe!" She snapped, her eyes instantly going black. "He was just a fucking kid! Why didn't you protect him? You should have gotten him out of there!" She just exploded on Brooklyn out of pure rage. He was Connor's big brother. He was supposed to look after him. "How could you do this, Brooklyn?!" MES focus on the mission and the other soldiers. Not each other. Derek's words rang out in her head. "Don't tell me you just let him die...Don't tell me you just left that kid." Brooklyn followed orders. Did he leave Connor to save someone else? She grabbed him by the collar of his uniform and shoved him into the helicopter so hard his head bounced off the metal. "What the hell did you do!? Why didn't you save him?"
When Brooklyn didn't answer quick enough she shoved him away, hands grabbing at the side of her head. She let out an agonizing cry, sinking to her knees in the dirt. The little boy she had kept safe for so long was dead. The one that always just wanted a hug or to play a game. The one she had 'saved' so long ago when he was a Gamma. Her friend. Her little brother. She hadn't been there to protect him. A sickening thought suddenly crossed her...she had never even told the kid she loved him. Her finger nails dug into the side of her skull. I love you, War! His innocent voice tormented her mind.
Blood started dripping from her hands, her grip on her head was so tight. Releasing her grip, she brought her hands down to look at the blood. Slowly, War got back to her feet and reached for the 'Saint Michaels Protect Me' pendant she wore around her neck and squeezed it tightly. "Your time in hell is over soldier...You don't have to be Alpha 122 anymore...you can just be Connor now."
💀
Ambush. It had to be an ambush. Neither of them had seen it coming, they hit Connor first, they had to have known his senses were more advanced, it was a tactical decision. They had used sedatives, somehow sneaked up behind Connor without notice. Then they’d gone for him. Jay had tried to fight back, but had failed and been knocked out as well.
He woke up tied to a chair across from a very alive looking Connor. They wanted them alive. “Connor? Kid, you okay?” Jay asked. He tested his restraints, tight, very tight. Their captors were not careless people, they had definitely taken their time.

“Kid, War’s a good soldier, and she knows where to find us. We go back in there for her, building that size, we’re as good as dead before we even figure out what floor she’s on. We gotta keep moving, meet up with Gale. Let’s go.”

“Alright, got the crate all set up in the back seat, plenty of blankets, printed off directions… I think we’re all set to go pick up our cargo.” Truck started the car and turned up the heat first thing. Friend of his at the shelter needed somebody to take a long drive and pick up a dog–poor thing some farmer found in the woods, in rough shape thanks to the cold weather–and Connor had agreed to come along for the ride. Truck wasn’t a hundred percent sure it was a good idea, but if the kid wanted to get outside his comfort zone a bit, he’d be happy to help. He gave Connor a careful look as they pulled out.
❝ You okay? ❞
{ Just a quick note to the MES role-players and people who dabble in that verse - if Pru, or in fact any of my characters, are exposed to abuse/torture scenarios, they will do their best to remove your characters from them until they succeed. If it’s canon that your characters cannot be removed from these situations, then please don’t expose my characters to them.
I’m afraid neither I nor my muses can look the other away, even if this is fictional. We collectively have very strong opinions about this stuff and I as the mun won’t dabble in that kind of darkness if there’s no way to end it ( as in get your muses out ). It’s not to my tastes.
Aside from that, I love you all and I will get to replying ASAP now that I’m home =) }
