so you think indie girl voice is annoying huh? and you think it’s frustrating that people do it? well let me just start by saying that i in particular find some peoples voices really annoying when they do indie voice (see my love hate relationship with halsey), but in every genre of music there is a particular voice that artists tend to take on! all opera sing like opera singers, all pop punk singers sound the same, and theres more for sure. BUT if you’re going to say that it is “indie GIRL voice” instead of regular “indie” voice, then you are very wrong! very wrong! it is a voice for the whole genre, not just the ladies! as an indie music fan i can list about 10 bands off the top of my head that use indie voice! so if you dont like indie voice, but you say its fine when guys use it, you probably dont hate “indie voice”, you hate some of the people you’ve heard do it. this has been a psa by me. while there are always different styles of singing, everyone makes it their own. think before you say you hate a style of music :)
