Coming soon to television: Rush Hour reboot on CBS starring Jon Foo as Detective Lee and Justin Hires as Detective Carter. Seems like there’s been a plethora of new television series based on popular films of yesteryear coming into the gates for the new tele season. There’s a little déjà vu since CBS had a show called Martial Law (Saturday nights 1998-2000) starring Sammo Hung who was later partnered with Arsenio Hall -- and their relationship was heavily marketed as a buddy cop show, “the pairing of Hung and Hall as partners was similar to, albeit a bit less overtly comedic than, the partnership between Sammo's friend, Jackie Chan, and Chris Tucker in the Rush Hour feature films.”

Curious to see what happens with this new show, coming from a guy who grew up watching bits of Walker, Texas Ranger and watching a number of Bruce Lee films. It’s been a while since there’s been a decent martial arts program on broadcast television.

Bill Lawrence of Scrubs and Cougartown is producing this project, so I’m hinting we will see some comedy mixed in.
