So uhhh I lied about getting to kikaider (I know I know put me on the ultra cross) because I wanted some more team based toku. Started Genseishin Justiriser on a whim and it’s really enjoyable 6 episodes in.

I hadn’t heard anyone talk about so was expecting it to ape a lot from Super Sentai, being a team based show and all, but it does enough so far to make it unique. I was kinda torn about them not having the giant fight every episode but they seem to offset it by having higher budget giant robo fights. The generally more serious tone is also nice (not that it’s super gritty or anything but they haven’t had any joke monsters yet)

The one really weird thing tho is how busy the Justirisers’ suits are. Not quite an overload like some rider final forms can be but they definitely have more texture work going on than sentai suits.
