It was surprising to encounter Hiei on this island, but now he had caught glance of Kuwabara. Fate was strange, wasn’t it? Even on an island in the middle of nowhere, some force wanted them to all be together. That, and maybe they want them to work together, solve the mystery of this island, and get them the hell out of there. ...What’s next? Demons popping up and trying to cause trouble? Just throw in some zombies too and it may just be like home. However, one thing he did wish was that his encounter with Kuwabara was... Less boisterous. Yes, this was typical of Kuwabara if not Yusuke, but he was making a commotion right in the middle of the island. He didn’t even catch everything Kuwabara was yelling about, but a line he definitely caught was ‘Kurama ditched me!!’ With a sigh, he walked closer. He was definitely going to have to explain things...

“Not so loud,” He tapped Kuwabara’s shoulder to get his attention, causing the other to turn to face him. “I’m right here.”

Mitsuru doesn’t even have to say a word to the pompadoured young man to know what kind of person he was: after years of serving on Gekkoukan High’s student council, she had dealt with enough delinquents to recognize them at first sight. Of course, unlike her gung-ho councilmate Odagiri, she isn’t going to demonize him or try to aggravate things; after all, in a place like this, things like social status and high school cliques had no meaning. Especially after her time with SEES, she knew that first impressions and appearances could be deceiving...

However, she is going to say something -- after all, there has to be a reason he’s staring at her, though it could have been similar to her own piercing gaze; she couldn’t blame him for trying to size her up as well. “Is there something you need?”

Everyone seemed to be in the house at mis-matched times; and aside from a lot of very straight forward questions (followed by a polite ‘thank you for your time.’) no-one in the house knew Akatsuki that well.

Today one of them would discover him early in the morning, sleeping with his head on the kitchen table, his cellphone only partly put back together. The books and paper under him were once organized, until he’d fallen asleep on them. His next victim would’ve been the microwave. It sits unplugged on the corner of the table, to be quietly intimidated by tools.

       A curious sight... There, in the boy’s hands, was a rather noticeable light. Energy, condensed and formed into a weapon--that is, a sword. Perhaps not in the most refined form, no, but as he observed, it became clear that the blade maintained a solid, definite presence. 

“That’s quite the Arte for a boy your age.” He seemed genuinely impressed, though perhaps not for the reasons one might suspect. “Although, perhaps ‘Arte’ might not be the correct term in this case... Given your clothing, I take it you hail from a different world entirely?”

 ❝ E-Eh? ❞  Itsuki was used to being challenged like any normal martial artist affiliated with a dojo... But not in the middle of the street, in plain daytime with many people around her. Maybe going out that day wearing her judogi wasn’t an idea as bright as it seemed, especially considered she wasn’t going to train until way later in the day. 

A short silence proceeded her as she took the time to think about it. A deep yet sure breath was the final sign that showed her determination. His grandpa would probably have done the same. 

❝ I accept. Bring it on. ❞  Even with some bystanders deciding to spend their time watching the battle, Itsuki decided it was best to deal with it right there. There wasn’t many people that would be troubled by them taking some space of that alleyway, in fact, they seemed to rather enjoy it.

There were monsters running amok in the city and he was nowhere near a safe zone which was fine. He was used to being in these kind of situations though he wished his strike force was with him. But he had to make due. 

He spotted someone walking around the streets probably in the same situation as him, still he was a cop first. Protecting the citizens in times of crisis was important.

“Hey, Punk!” he yelled. “Ya gotta death wish or somethin’?! Go home and stay home, it’s not safe.”
