Just Space - Conference 1/11/17
The session taught me about people's opinions about community and also the Language people are told to believe in documents set out by the mayor. The use of the word 'affordable homes' suggestion by individuals is that it should be changed to an alternative wording. Instead of contributing to discussions as lots of people had something to say - instead, I stayed quite listening and engaging in what each individual had to say as, to be honest, they all had major points to make.
(Gathering information from different sites referring to Tobies reference of the kung fu reference (taking back something gathered from somewhere else and using if for my own advantage)
What I learned from this space is realising the potential of the community how all these groups work secularly within their own councils however they do not cross over to meet and see how they can develop as a unit.
The community would rather keep hold of buildings that already exist and use them for those who need homes no need to demolish them. Therefore this is an idea to think about how homes are regenerated - is it by using cladding or other means of the refurbishment of design to upgrade the look of spaces.
As SPACE seems like a major lack of in London, therefore, developers want the chance to build in any area where their availability to create new homes and spaces.
How can these spaces be remembered for how they looked or do we have to consider just an ever-changing space of architecture because in years to come perhaps these buildings won't be fit for purpose and the whole cycle happens again. For an ever-changing urban landscape.
