The other night I was making myself dinner around 11 or 12 after getting home from work. Looking up into my cabinet above my stove while I stirred a pot of pasta has never been so insightful. Odd, but yes. Looking into my cabinet—seeing my ramen and spices and and other kitchen things—I realized some things. I'm 20 years old, holding down two steady jobs, working towards my degree, while living in my own apartment. And with all of those things going for me I need to stop comparing myself to others and feeling like I'm not getting to where I want to be in life. I'm successful everyday and so is everyone else. No matter how small the feat, it's important to appreciate the little things in life and know that you are moving forward.
