Juvia Dominating in her Element

First of all, and of course I’m still buzzing about Gray slipping and almost calling him and Juvia a couple in the newest 100 Years Quest chapter. 🤭🤭🤭 That was honestly so huge, it almost feels surreal because who could have imagined tsundere Gray doing that all those years ago? So satisfying and undeniable of his feelings for Juvia, and how he sees his relationship with her. Even if he hasn’t made it official yet, in his head they are already a couple. 😏 And it totally all stemmed from him, as well. It wasn’t any kind of joke, or silly moment. Juvia was all business beside him. I’m still so (tentatively) excited to see where this fight leads for them.

But what I really wanted to focus on is the satisfaction of seeing Juvia absolutely dominate in her element within this arc. The fact that she’s swooped in twice now, and successful saved Meredy and Gray, is something as a Juvia fan I could have only dreamed about years ago in the original FT series. Juvia was rarely allowed by the story to do those things.

Juvia was always the emotionally compromised one. She wasn’t given the benefit of those types of heroic moments often (if at all). Let alone getting to see what a master she truly is of water magic. We saw Gray fight as Juvia, and tell us how strong she is. We KNOW she’s strong. She taught herself water-make magic! She was formerly S-class in a major guild. But she is constantly handicapped, so we have been denied her being a badass more often than not.

So to see her finally having these types of moments, where you see her being clever, being confident, being in command of the situation?? Dreams do come true! 🥹🥹

And I love that Juvia has already saved Gray TWICE in this battle, and it’s only just started. She just reconstructed him from his puddle. I love that their enemy is baffled by Juvia’s water magic, and how she easily counters his own. I know that they will have to struggle against this opponent soon enough, so I’m going to just soak up (pun intended lol) all the badass Juvia moments now as they are happening. Because we deserve this dammit hahaha
