With all the possible things Park Sooyoung, the one and only (if she may add herself), could have been nervous about--it just had to be this. It couldn’t have been the fact that she had left her water running at home, and when she came home she’d probably get her butt kicked by Nana for flooding the house. Or, it couldn’t have been because of the fact that she hadn’t gotten a chance to wash her hair yet, so she probably looked like a mess. There were just so many possibilities. Endless amounts of them, but instead, she had to choose a date to be nervous about. As if she hadn’t ever been with Wheein before in her entire life.
This was just...different. This entire thing was different, because, it was the first time. There were usually always first times for everything--and this would be hers. The only real problem she had with the entire situation was the fact that she was about to do it. She was about to actually ask to go on a date, and if that wasn’t completely out of the ordinary for her then she didn’t have a single clue what was.
Though, she had to admit, nothing was ordinary when it came to her.
And, after a few minutes of pep talk in front of the mirror, her phone was gripped tightly in her hand and she was ready. Even though a text probably wasn’t an ideal way to ask someone, she was just still so ready to do this.
( sms → Wheein ) So the date thing? We’re doing that. WE’RE DOING THE THINGS COUPLES DO. SO GO GET READY.
Once her fingers had finished typing out the message, her thumb grazed over the send button, and after a few moments of internal struggle over how completely stupid the text was--she sent it. Her phone being flung right onto the bed with herself following in pursuit along with it, a sigh and a loud groan escaping past her lips as she did so. All she had to do now was just...patiently wait. Which Sooyoung happened to fail completely in the act of patience. So instead of patiently waiting there like she should have been, she got back up out of her bed to twirl her way towards her closet....yes, twirl, because she still just had too much energy and sunshine in her to let any nervousness get in the way of her weird antics. Even though she knew she’d be in her closet for at least a good hour trying on at least ten different things, she’d have fun with making her way over to it.
..... The hell kind of things are you thinking of? Better be a cute dinner date.
I’m thinking about how I’m going to take you to the park, at night. I’ll push you on the swings and it’ll be all cute and stuff, like in the movies. You know what I’m talking about right? And, then I’ll do that gross thing where the dude in the movie leans in for a kiss, but instead, I’m going to lean in and then push you off the swing at the last second.
Wheein was practically sweating bullets as she approached the home of the other, and she abused her lower lip by chewing on it excessively. There were multiple times she had put it off, giving herself some sort of mental pep and then psyching herself out last second.
This was probably the eighth time, really. The dark haired girl held a bouquet tightly in her grasp, probably tight enough to squeeze them a little too much– she was even a tad bit shaky. Okay, very shaky.
Her hand balled into a fist and she knocked, though she wasn’t sure if it was loud enough to hear. She’d wait till the door opened, and just let it go– she was going to let it all spill out of her mouth before the other could speak; or else Wheein would clearly wuss out and simply book it in the opposite direction.
“Ah, I know this is sudden, uhm–” she hesitated for a bit, and she could feel the words be caught in her throat– which she had to force out. She rehearsed it. Time and time again, she repeated these words in the mirror in hopes of it being easier. Wheein cleared her throat as a pink tint covered her pale cheeks. “Well, it’s not sudden. You know what’s happening, I know what’s happening, I’m probably going to just yell at you, and if I do, I’m really sorry… And-” she began to ramble as she began to get flustered, but she didn’t want to give the latter a chance to speak and ruin her “mojo”.
“Okay, but, you know how I feel. Yeah- Uhm, I really like you. Like, I really, really, really like you. As in, I think about you a lot, and I just want you to be happy, and I just want to give you everything I am able to give just so you’re happy and that scares me a little, but at the same time it genuinely brings te most comforting feeling? Erm, it’s strange to me because this is the first time I’ve genuinely liked someone.. since- yeah. Uh. Oh god, I think I’m gonna barf.” whined Wheein as she shoved the bouquet forward with both hands. “I really want to be with you. Uhm, I hope you want to be with me? Er- I want to be your girlfriend. Yes, that’s it. Uh. Oh god. The mirror was easier cause I could see how dumb I looked, but uh..“
Wheein’s orbs were glued to the ground as she shook the bouquet a bit, "My wonderful Sooyoung, would you be my- uh, my thing. My person. The thing where people hold hands and smooch and are in this weird committed thing- girlfriend- thing-"
As much as she hadn’t expected anything to happen today, she definitely knew something was going to happen. When it came to Park Sooyoung, there never was a day where something completely unexpected happened to her. If it wasn’t dropping coins into people’s food at Wendy’s on accident–which she swore she didn’t mean to do it and she’d vow to never go back in there again– it was the fact that someone was at her door when she hadn’t even invited anyone in the first place.
With a slight sigh as she placed her DS down with a longing gaze in her eyes and a promise to return to it as soon as possible, she threw herself out of bed and onto the floor. Apparently in her strange mind, crawling to the door was a much more convenient way to get to it instead of walking like a normal person. Once she got to it though, with much struggle, she lifted herself up off the floor by grabbing onto the door handle and then swung it open.
“Oh my god–” She couldn’t even say much of anything, because she hadn’t been expecting the person she’d been trying to keep herself from for the past week. The person that she didn’t want to admit she really liked, and wanted to beat up because she liked them so damn much. But, of course, this was her. This was a thing that was happening to her, which didn’t even surprise her in the slightest. It was just her luck, really.
She did make sure to carefully listen to everything that the other girl said. Despite it all seeming completely ridiculous and something she couldn’t even wrap her head around, she still listened. But once Wheein had finished talking–that’s definitely when she closed her eyes and just groaned in frustration. It was the only thing she could even do, because—was the other serious? Was she really asking her this?
Who in their right mind would choose to lay their affections with her? She didn’t even know, but she was glad it was happening. She was glad that it was her even though she knew she didn’t deserve it at all.
“I can’t believe that you’re really doing this. I CAN’T BELIEVE IT, JUNG WHEEIN I SWEAR TO GOD…” Even though her words said one thing, the smile and reddening cheeks said another as she peeked outside to look around before she pulled the other into her home and slammed the door.
“Look here– you perfect human being. I’M SO MAD THAT YOU’RE DOING THIS. My answer is also yes, I really adore everything about you and you make my heart hurt in a really great way– BUT I’M REALLY MAD STILL…” She paused for a second once her eyes caught sight of the flowers, her hand lifting up to point at them. “Are those for me?”
