Sorry, I’m about a month behind on blogging...
Over Labor Day weekend, David, Camry and I spent a couple of nights at the JW Marriott Downtown LA. We would have walked over, but it was way too hot, so we took Lyft. So far, knock on wood, I haven’t had any problems with Lyft, yay :) Let me just say, I couldn’t be happier at how well Camry was received at the JW Marriott. Well, I mean, what a non event it was. Sounds weird, I know, but, it really makes a difference when we can check in and not even be asked about Camry. You know, just like everyone else checking in. What a novel concept! ;)
We needed a little getaway in order to have our “offsite”. What?! We put our phones and watches on “do not disturb” and spent most of the day talking and taking notes. Why? Why not?
What could we possibly be talking about? Well...life. Our individual goals - career and personal. Yeah, we could have done it at home, but being away made it easier to focus and really hear each other. I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical too, but it really ended up being such a worthwhile project!
Just to clarity - we are very happily married and we didn’t do this because of any problems. I’ve told a few people and they thought we were having marital problems, HA! Nope, quite the contrary :D I did mention it to some older friends who totally got it and said it it something they do as well :)
We believe communication is the key to a happy marriage. It was pretty awesome to hear how in sync we are in where we’d lie to see our lives go in the future. Nothing is in stone, it’s all fluid - just be open to what opportunities and adventures life has in store!! :D
