my parents and i have been watching is docu-series on the black death and i’m actually super enjoying it even tho i’m not much of a history person. the weird thing is i’m learning a bunch of details about the persecution of jews during this time, and apparently the story my dad always told me growing up—that jews caught the plague less frequently because they did weekly mikveh & lived pretty separately from the rest of european communites, while medieval goyim just straight up didn’t bathe—is totally bupkus. not even sure where they got it from, since a cursory google search doesn’t even turn of any mention, so it’s not even a particularly common myth. it’s especially weird how even as an adult with a significant background in epidemiological research, it never occured to me that it doesn’t make no sense. 🤔

Entry Twenty-Four

I posted over a week ago about a fault in my calculations. However, upon reviewing the matter and looking again at the subject at hand, I can't understand what went wrong. Everything still concludes to the same result. The facts do not lie and yet the subject seems to resist on every occasion and I have yet to figure out why.
