Relationship headcanon

Kylo Ren’s ATTRACTION to [Rey] is that of a mental pull as of now, not a sexual one  — despite the unconvincing intimiacy of their interactions. He appreciates her looks; and will not deny her appeal, but for him it is all an attraction of the MIND until otherwise bloom. He is attracted to her FORCE, her prowess, and personality which strongly clashes with his. She is a challenge, one he cannot ignore. Rey is someone who can fight him on an equal plane, and he will not treat her as someone lesser than him. He has never had someone be able to fight him on a mental plane before. It INTRUIGES him; and pulls him towards the Scavenger. OPPOSITES attract. LIGHT cannot exist without the DARK.

Kylo treats Rey like an equal

unlike Finn. I don’t get why that is so hard to understand. Finn was about to save her when she was getting attacked. He kept grabbing her hand and dragging her around like she couldn’t make her own decisions or save herself even though she proved time and time again that she didn’t need saving or fighting for. He continuously sees her as the damsel in distress and she continuously proves him wrong. Kylo did do some really shitty things to her but he is a really shitty person so that’s not surprising. He treated her as he would any of his “guests” but he didn’t treat her as lesser than him. She wasn’t lesser than him because she was a woman. He saw that she saved herself. He saw that she would fight him. He fought her back just as hard. It didn’t matter that she had no training and no connections and no Y chromosome (not saying that you need a Y chromosome to be a man because you don’t. I know that, you know that, Kylo knows that so don’t start any fights about how I am so phobic. I decided to say it like that because it went with the flow of the sentence.) Kylo saw Rey for who she was and, more importantly, he saw her for who she could be.

BB-8 was sounding off its amusement. “Rey, I know you might not find this urgent but I can’t get anywhere with BB-8 running into me. Help!” C-3PO tried to walk away only to get hit in the legs again. “BB-8 will you behave yourself?”
