Love your Witcher Halloween Modern AUs! Will you make more Christmas headcanons? *wink wink*

Sorry this took a while but weirdly (?) I don’t have many Christmas headcanons. If I have time (pls) I’ll draw but here’s a few small things for now:

Geralt picks Ciri up from school in December and little kids think he’s Santa. When they’re at the mall waiting to take photos with Actual Santa, kids point out that he looks like Santa (he thinks about shaving his beard off completely but this is my AU and it’s illegal here)

Yennefer gets one (1) extremely rare and expensive Gwent card for Geralt. She also gets him tickets to a big Gwent tournament and books time off so she can take care of Ciri while he’s away

I feel like Geralt often has a hard time thinking of what to get Yen since she’s the kind of person who’s got “everything” i.e. she has Money and buys her own Chanel/Dior/D&G etc. Sometimes he’ll get her something like a Swarovski unicorn. Other times he’ll do something sentimental and cheesy like a keepsake album thing. He made one the first year they had Ciri and she didn’t cry but…she basically cried

Ciri makes drawings at school for her parents of her parents; Geralt tapes his to the wall of his office and Yennefer frames hers (this isn’t really holiday-specific but I want everyone to know)

Since Ciri’s the one kid in her small extended family she gets a bunch of gifts so she’s kiiiinda spoiled. She gets all the cool stuff including but not limited to Hot Wheels, an Easy Bake Oven, Lego, and the very good 90s My Little Pony. Idek I just feel like she’d have a lot of interests as a kid

Geralt makes apple cider from his own apple tree which Yen loves, but she drinks so much that she has to buy jugs of it from a store (same deal with regular apple juice). He saves some apples so he can make some for their Christmas party (but she ends up drinking most of it anyway)

FFXV Small Secret Santa

@jxlight It’s your secret santa!!!!! All the bros are happy in this fic (as requested), well... except for Noct, but... well... it’s veggies, ‘nuff said. XD Takes place in the post-battle “friendly match” where Iggy FINALLY gets Noct to eat his veggies. Hope you enjoy!!!!

“UGHHHH… do I really have to?” Noctis groaned as he stared down the tomato on his fork.

“We made a wager, Noct,” Ignis reminded, the corner of his lip curling up into a smirk. “Loser would eat all his vegetables; that was the deal we made.”

Once more the Crown Prince of Lucis groaned, resting a hand on his chin before looking down at the rest of the vegetable-based dishes that were on the table.

I never imagined that Ignis would actually have been able to beat me, he mused, I used every weapon in my arsenal, and he still beat me!

There was a light jingling of bells and soon Gladio and Prompto walked over to them. They had gone to run errands in the meanwhile after hearing about Noctis and Ignis’ friendly bout, and based on the pleading look on the prince’s face and the smirk on his advisor’s, it was quite evident who had won.

“Whew, damn, you made quite a feast here, Iggy,” Gladio commented with a smirk. “Trying to feed him twenty years of missed veggies or something?”

“Please, join me and help eat it,” Noctis practically pleaded.

Prompto shook his head with a smirk. “Nah, man, Iggy made this all just for you,” he responded, a lilt of teasing in his voice.

“Still, I’m pretty impressed that he managed to beat you,” his Shield commented, placing a hand on his hip. “What, were you going easy on him?”

“Not in the slightest,” Ignis answered, an innocent smile on his face. “He used the full force of the Armiger, threw several magic spells at me, and he even went to the trouble of using the Ring of the Lucii on me during the battle.”

Both Gladiolus and Prompto nodded slowly, unable to garner a response. The irritation in Ignis’ voice –though faint, was unmistakable.

The blond turned to his best friend. “Dude, you’d use the all-powerful Ring of the Lucii on your royal advisor –your childhood friend, just to avoid eating vegetables?” he asked, almost in disbelief.

A faint pink tint coloured Noctis’ cheeks as he looked away with puffed cheeks. “I… uh…”

“Regardless of how he fought, the winner was clear in the end,” Ignis said, folding his hands on the table as he smiled gleefully. “Now then, Noct, eat up. You don’t want all this food to go to waste, right? I’ve made it all just for you.”

Noctis groaned, still holding onto the fork that had the tomato stabbed into it. Note to self, he thought, never bet on eating vegetables in a battle against Specs.

@jxlight i'm just gonna do whatever the hell this is that i'm doing because i'm a grandma that doesn't understand how replies work (idk maybe someone else is interested in this anyway????? i just don't know what i'm doing lol) so i took a class last semester called global popular culture and we had to write a term paper, which we could do about anything we wanted. mine wasn't *technically* about witcher, but i talked about it a lot. the actual topic was the pitfalls of translating fiction between languages - figures of speech that don't have other-language equivalents, delays in translation that result in drastically different release dates - and the effect of these problems on imagined communities, and i used witcher as my example/case study because it showcases all of these problems tl;dr: i wrote a 10-page paper based entirely on the question "how much can i talk about witcher in a paper that is only tangentially about witcher"
