I haven’t talked about it at length here, but it’s worth noting that like her brothers (over at @jxnesiisms), Shadow’s opinion of alcohol is extremely poor. She’s very uncomfortable being around people who are or have been drinking, especially if they show any signs of being tipsy or drunk. A lot of this has to do with their dad, as we took cues from IDW’s backstory for Casey to apply to the 2012 Joneses.
As a result, the Jones kids just can’t stand to be around it or around people imbibing. Too many bad memories associated. They don’t want to risk running into another person whose response to alcohol is to get mean. They’ve lived through enough of that kind of hurt.

|| Casey chuckled a bit, before he lifted the carry-bassinet on the table and placed the top completely down to show the little mutant. The little turtle was awake and showed his green eyes, looking up at Casey and Arnie.
“I bet Socrates loves to meet him too, doesn’t he?” The jock pointed out before he playfully stroked along the child’s cheek. His attention moved right after that back to his son, smiling a bit. He looked so much like Raph, if you didn’t count that bunch of black hair he had...And the fact that he had human-like hands.

She couldn’t believe she was late! Not that she’d meant to be. She had so much trouble sleeping the night before, anxious after hearing what sounded like someone rattling her window. Impossible, considering how high up the condominium was.
But that being said, she was still late, and she was going to have hell to pay if she didn’t hurry it up.
So intent was she on her run to get to the ballet studio, she wasn’t paying much attention to where she was going... and she ended up running headlong, right into someone’s back.

Stress is a term that is used increasingly lightly describe a situation like this. Ever since they returned from space, April seemed to have started getting increasingly worse with her mood and emotional status. Confused, rash and even cruel. Especially with the way she spoke to the one person that seemed to place her from where she is in reality. Her attitude crossed everyone, but he gave her chances because he knew it wasn’t her doing.
“Nico! Hang on! Y-you have to be rational about this. Calm down!”
“April is being possessed by the being in the Aeon Crystal! I can shake her out of it! She’ll listen to me!”
“You don’t know that! We have to be-“
“I’m going to save her Don, we can do this I can do this!”
There are no words from the older twin, but a sinking feeling weighs in his chest and worry fills those chestnut eyes. Fear gripping him so tightly he couldn’t breathe, yet he follows after his twin in order to try and shake April from her possessed state. After what she had done to him and Master Splinter, and when she threw their brothers off the roof that wouldn’t have been able to survive if they hadn’t had their gear.
Thunder crackles loudly, deafening all listening, but none paid attention as all eyes were on the glowing grinning red head in the sky. Horror just gripping them as all tried to reach for solutions to this and ways they could get April back into her conscious mind in order to make choices on her own. Still, fists clench from the family below as they are merely spectators at this point. Trying to race up might prove to have a negative impact and would end result in more people being hurt.
Reaching the top, Niccolo and Donnie look up at the girl. Donnie’s eyes staring in wariness as well as trepidation, but Niccolo pressed forward in an attempt to reason with her. Keeping his hands in front of himself, but down so as not to appear a threat.
“April, this isn’t you. I know you can fight this!”
There is a flash in those luminescent eyes as cerulean blues appear once more. Full of fear, weakness, and silent pleas to help.
“I-I’m trying Nico. Sh-she’s just…too strong!”
“So are you! Don’t let her control you!”
Tears spring in her gaze before she vanishes once more and the sinister grin reappears on her face before she starts to levitate up. Nico reaches up after her, and Donnie moves to grab him but before he knew it Niccolo is up in the air with her.
“Niccolo! No!”
“A-april! You can stop this! You are the only one who can! Fight her April!”
A groan is heard as hands fly to her head, gripping it tightly and appearing as if she is struggling. Donnie’s mind is racing, trying to find just how he can save his twin and not be a spectator. Seeing the satellite braces cause him to fly over toward them in order to try and attempt to get his brother down.
“I…Nico I can’t! She’s stronger than I am…I can’t…control it!”
“April please!”
“NO!”
The beings voice roars loudly and sends a pulse that knocks everyone in the near vicinity back a step or two, save for Niccolo. She holds him still, solidly in fact, the luminescent gaze now stares down at the being that seems to give her host such strength to fight back as she is right now. Grin widening as she brings him closer to her.
“Niccolo!”
“Nico no!”
“Put him down!”
“Nico!”
“NICCOLO PLEASE!
Voices of panic raise in the wind but vanish under the noise of thunder and crack of lightening above them drown the whole world away as heart beats thrum painfully in six chests, panic and anxiety suffocating them despite the wide-open space surrounding them.
Right now, their world feels entirely too small.
Rusty eyes peer up at the girl holding him captive, the feeling of her power starts to flow through his form and tugs a subtle fear inside him but he ignores it in order to plead with April once more to fight the being, that she has the power and the strength to do so.
“Put him down witch!”
Donnie’s voice crashes the heavy silence and is heard by the younger but he cannot afford to be distracted by his twin. His focus needs to be on waking April from her possessed state, she wouldn’t listen to anyone else…
“April…please.”
The last word is whispered into the air, which causes her grin to widen before her power tugs at him. His lips open slightly as it feels like a thousand tiny electrical currents are tugging at his molecules, which he knows they are starting to separate atom by atom. Still, his eyes remain on the girl above him, eyes pleading with her before a short moment of sharp pain and everything goes black.
“NOO!”
Donnie’s voice penetrates above the thunder as the scream scratches against his throat enough for him to become hoarse. Fists clenching on the bars he was holding before he simply let go to tumble to the ground. The lavender mask billowing in the wind, tears mixing in the rain as the bandanna floats down to the rest of the family below.
Everyone just screaming and staring in horror, unspeakable agony on their features. Raphael and Casey having an absolutely crushing hold on Arnie whom is screaming so loudly that it matches Donnie’s, more piercing like something was physically removed from him. Tears cascading down his features before collapsing to his knees, breath foreign to them and just staring at the place where Niccolo had been, not even registering that April was no longer there.
Simply staring at to where Nico no longer was.
The wind fades, the rain fades, the thunder, lightening and even sound becomes nonexistent the instant their brother vanished from sight. Feeling as if a piece of them was ripped viciously from them and registering still coursing through their minds and bodies.
