He could feel it; something like needles stabbing into the back of his shoulder blade. And, while usually Roman would have written off this pernicious feeling as though someone had their eye on him, it was on a particularly irritable day that the culprit was soon to fall victim to the full force of his ire.
“Look-- kid.” Upon a swift turn of the heel his gaze fell upon a figure considerably shorter than he had anticipated. However, if anyone expected that this would serve to curb his attitude, they would be sorely disappointed. “Hasn’t anyone taught you it’s rude to stare?” His follow-up dripped with condescension, a hand propped upon his waist as he leaned ever so slightly over to address the girl.
“I just hate to blow your whole day, but unless you’ve got some cookies to sell, I simply abhor playing babysitter.”
