with a genial smile and a bow wonshik bid the day’s audience farewell. he felt secure in his performance; vanillite did much better than wonshik thought he would, surprising his coordinator as much as the judges. not a win, but wonshik was satisfied that with more practice and input from a few friends, they’d be ready to advance to the next rank soon.
as the contestants made their way backstage, he wiggled past other contestants with the same easy smile and polite nods here, waving at those he knew a little better and congratulating those who placed. when he finally spotted luda over the heads of some younger coordinators, he made eye contact, his smile curling his eyes.
“luda! great job today,” he said, patting her shoulder. “there was a lot of good coordinators today,” he added, shaking his head. “wanna go grab something to drink and do our usual review?”
