RAVENWOOD ( LIFE & DEATH ) K-303 & K-606 BASEGAME ( ALMOST ) MANDATORY K-505 UPDATE
Hello people :)
Halloween has arrived, and with it, the Life & Death expansion ! We’ve been working hard to make sure Ravenwood is a hauntingly beautiful place for your Sims to visit … or haunt, depending on their mood. Here’s what’s new :
For once, we are going to make 2 posts related to the new town of Life & Death expansion : Ravenwood ...
Of course, this not the first time maxis includes base game stuff in expansions worlds, but this time, it's not about stuff but it's all about terrains ;)
So, except the Afterlife side of Ravenwood which has its own dark rocks, Ravenwood countryside is made of its own cliffs and ... Oasis Spring Rocks/Mountains ( a desert town, just as a reminder ) ... Why Oasis Spring ? it would be more logical to create specific new rocks or at least, choose the more grayish rocks from Willow Creek but well ... ea / maxis / logic <- not the best combo :D
So, after some tests, we decided to modify the rocks/mountains of Oasis Spring, which is only based on a choice of our own. Curiously, now they are not orange anymore, they give a less flat aspect to the town ...
Then, we modified "small" things & stuff of the base game we should have done a long time ago, but not mandatory such as the stone street planter and public lavatories. They are all over Ravenwood now, and their original look seems more ugly than before :D so, we modified them ;) idem with the base short stone fence ... ( yes we know, we have to make more fences )
-> Well, you see the point ;)
Related to the other k-303, the ones included in Ravenwood ( both sides ) we made few ones in order to get a similar look & feel than the k-505 urban :) And we modified a bit the debug town banners ( mostly sharpening, colour ) and streetlamps ... well, you'll discover it, or not :D your choice of course :)
The k-303 isn’t mandatory, but it adds just the right touch to elevate Ravenwood’s atmosphere. Here’s what’s been updated:
Gravesites – Some of the graves in Ravenwood had a mix of grass and dirt that didn’t quite fit the mood. We’ve refreshed these textures to blend seamlessly with the k-505 for that true cemetery feel.
Portal & Soul Bowl – Over in the Netherworld, the portal and soul bowl were looking a little… underwhelming. Now, with enhanced textures, they bring just the right level of mystique and “cool” factor to the other side.
Solicitor Rug – Our lovely public service solicitor has a new set of rugs that better reflect the status and vibe of Ravenwood. A touch of style for the gentleman who offers advice to all ( living or dead )
Street Decor – The town square banners, street lamps, and other decorative touches around Ravenwood have gotten a glow-up.
So, dive into and see how these textures and additions bring new life ( or un-life ) to this chilling town.
About the k-606 : roofs and foundation + 3 series of fences are re-made :) One is still under work and will be released very soon.
Ravenwood has so many fences we couldn’t just leave them plain and un-haunted. These additions help set the mood perfectly for any mysterious, eerie Sim wandering through town ;)
Because the large part of grass included in some other graves, we included them directly into the Ravenwood k-505 mod :)

K-505 LIFE & DEATH - WELCOME TO RAVENWOOD
So, you made your k-505 basegame update ? ( see previous post ) Excellent ! And you already downloaded k-303 and k-606 updated just for you ? ( see previous post ) Great ! Now, let's talk about the new expansion terrains and urban k-505 mod for Life & Death :)
Welcome to Ravenwood, where life and the afterlife hang out together. This little town might look all quaint and charming. Now, whether you’re living with ghosts, working under the Grim Reaper itself, or just hanging around for the vibes, Ravenwood is ready to accommodate. We’re really hoping you’re here for more than just those haunted trees, though—because frankly, they’re as weird as they are creepy …
Ramparts and flower bushes, trees and paved streets. As usual, we did our best to make this little place better. With or without the Grim Reaper's approval. Hell, we just revamped the place and left as soon as we could :D
Even we know there will be tiny updates to do in the coming weeks, we tried to bring a bit of depth. This place is now beautiful and no Lord Vampire ( hello Vlad ! ) no Death and no ghost ( tree or cowplant ) can argue against it and claim a refund ( ha! talk about a loophole ) because once you see Ravenwood with this k-505 overhaul, there's no going back ... :D You are warned !
We brought ramparts that look like they’ve survived a thousand hauntings, lush flower bushes that’d make any ghost jealous, and revamped the streets with cobblestones just begging to be strolled by mysterious figures at midnight ;)
With the Grim Reaper’s silent nod ( or maybe just his lack of objection ), we’ve given the place a full facelift—adding textures and details that even Vlad might have to admit are an improvement.
Now, between haunted trees, ghostly cowplants, and whatever else wanders these streets at night, Ravenwood has the polished but spooky glow it deserves. And hey, if any ghouls want a refund, they’ll have to take it up with Grim itself ( because yes : we have some agreement indeed ) :D

TODAY ... THE DAY OF THE K-MODS DIRECTX11 UPDATE :)
Hello everyone :)
Here we are, after 2 weeks of intensive hard work :D we finally made most of our Sims 4 creations compliant with the pesky direct x11 update ...
As we thought, it has nothing to do with square or non square pictures ( maxis make non square pictures since the Sims 2 ) as we read around the web. So, do not waste your time with this point.
The difference between before the directX11 and after the directX11 is that now, strictly x2 multiple .dds are required.
Mainly, the minimum sizes of images in the Sims are 128 and/or 256 ( except thumbnails and some tiny specular which are smaller ) ...
Based on this, before the directX11, we could make images based on multiple of 128 and/or 256 such as 768x768 - 1536x1536 and so on, which was convenient to render a better image without growing too high in size/weight. It was a kinda suitable tolerance which is accepted by almost all games !
But now, every image which is not a perfect x2 multiple brings the famous question mark on it.
Curiously, this statement does not apply to ... Walls ! 256 base multiple is still working ( 256x768 - 256x1024 - 256x1280 ) Illogical as fuck but well ... here we are ;)
The Worlds we didn't update are due for a complete redux, so you'll have to wait a bit for those :

WHAT WE UPDATED TOO ...
We still didn't update the fences of the k-606. It will take some time. Be patient ;)
As we're currently updating our website, we re-organized the whole k-303 stuff which was a real deal :D But everything related to the k-303 is now direct x11 updated :) ( such as Willow Creek trolleys )
We corrected a few files too. Easier since we had to check so many files :D And we added some new stuff ( such as Outdoor Retreat small replacements )
This update changes everything for the ones who made the x11 update. It changes almost nothing for those who didn't make the x11 update. It just updates our files ;)
Everything is not yet over and finished. We just made the essentials.
Our walls are working fine ( except the thumbnails ... As we didn't make those thumbnails, we search the issue )
Many of our creations are ok. But not everything indeed. We didn't yet check everything. That's a job at work :) So, you know, if you notice something, send us a message. A detailed one of course ...
THE UPDATES WERE MADE POSSIBLE BECAUSE 2 FANTASTIC TESTERS WHO MADE THE DIRECT X11 UPDATE HELPED US. THEY WERE OUR EYES ON THIS PROJECT :)

WELCOME TO ... SAN SEQUOIA & COPPERDALE K-505 UPDATE AND K-707 NEWS :)
As we are still in the Bold November, here come San Sequoia and Copperdale K-505, both with their make-over, both ready to fill your need of pixels :)
SAN SEQUOIA ... as you know, the city is based on the San Fransisco Bay and the first thing we remade in this world has been the bridge :) It has to be red. No question :D Then, we made the grass and finished with the streets and roads. In that order ...
As we made a lot of textures work this month, we'll come back with more details in the coming weeks in each world since, you know, ALL the K-505 and other K-Mods have to be updated ;)
COPPERDALE ... frankly, I was quite surprised. Because I didn't expect such a town. Very agreeable to watch and play BUT very complicated to transform with true pixels :D So ... we remade A LOT of things, including the road signs ... many many details to review, many many files to work on, we hope the result will fill your expectations !
We already worked on the trees of the city, and all this is very promising. Which makes me talk about the K-707 ...
The terrible K-707 ..................... :) Already there are some trees from the last 4 worlds that are reworked ( such as the palm trees of Tartosa and San Sequoia ) and indeed I think they are much more interesting than the original ones but the K-707 is a difficult and tricky one and we really have to take care of it from the beginning, aka the base-game ... So, be patient about ;) because it will be super cool.
More news next week with the coming arrival of ... Chestnut Ridge rework ---> At first look, no particular obstacle arise. It should be fairly easy to cover all basics.
So, we're already working on K-707 and some special K-303 we're eager to get out.

K-101 GROUNDIES ( AKA FLOORPAINTS ) MAJOR UPDATE
Hello everyone :)
As the last expansion is out for around a week now, we have updated from the ground the k-101 Groundies ...
Maxis made some real changes inside its painting terrains since 2022 and an update was a long time due ! That's why we called it a Major Update :)
missing base ones have been added AND updated
the Get Famous terrains have been removed by Maxis so we did
the Cottage Living ones are completed
the only one terrain paint from Wedding World has been added
the Chestnut Ridge ones have been added
Most of them are Maxis match but a few are really different :) Everything has been updated until for Rent Expansion but Tomarang has no terrain paint ...
The ones which have terrain paints are : Willow Creek and Oasis Spring ( base game ) - Granite Falls - Windenburg - Evergreen Harbour - Sulani - Chestnut Ridge - Tartosa - Henford-on-Bagley
For those who do not know what is the k-101 Groundies, they are terrain paints, the ones used by Maxis for the terrains you may modify AND all your inside lot terrains :) They are different from the k-505 terrains ( which cover the worlds ) ... And speaking about the k-505 : WE MADE A SILENT UPDATE OF THE K-505 BASEGAME ONLY IN ORDER TO REMOVE THE DUPLICATES AND TO BE FULL OK WITH THIS UPDATE !
These updates are our last updates before the new year. But rendez-vous before Xmas for a k-hippie talk & news related to the Sims 4 :)
For everything related to our Sims 3 Worlds, we know we are a bit late but do not worry : THERE WILL BE SOME OTHER UPDATES for Lost Cove, Oaksoak Hollow and Eureka Valley :) and a new World incoming : Shetland Harbour !

SHETLAND HARBOUR IS COMING :)
I know I know ... I'm a bit late :D as usually but fore sure Shetland Harbour is coming in a few days :) In fact, the world is done and we are just testing it on both Mac and Pc. And making a good starting save game for everyone ...
Shetland Harbour is a medium/large world which has around 100 lots ... and Sheeps.
So what a June month it's going to be ! Shetland Harbour ( a brand new World ) AND the update of Oaksoak Hollow ( pronounced as o-ksoak and not oaks-oaks )
As you already knows it, our Worlds are always made with 2 major statements :

A true PLAYABLE experiment
We are aware we are still kinda newbies for everything related to CAW but we are learning ... always ! :D
All informations, cc content, pictures, ANTS ( Absolute Necessary Things & Stuff ), etc ... will be released with the coming download post ;)

About the "famous" directX11 Sims4 update, we investigate but everything we read about is quite simple : it's affecting everything graphic related, including thumbnails and so on. So, yes, some of you should get graphic problems since our K-Mods are all about graphic. So, the ones who get problems should doing some tests with our K-Mods and send us what's working and what is not with as much details as possible.
This is the EA statement : " While DirectX11 is available for those Simmers who want to try it, you may experience visual issues with mods so we recommend disabling all mods while using this command line argument "
What else ? well, I'm quite sure the Community will find soluces and more, detailed informations which will become a ground to work on. Then, we shall decide what to do and what not to do ;)

K-505 NEWS ... TARTOSA and MOONWOOD MILL
At first, let's talk about the downloads problem some of you encounter on Chrome. We just added some links on our website to a Google Drive. It is temporary until we find a solution to all this, even maybe changing our host server for another one.
Then, thanks A LOT to people who send us coffees !

So ... for you fellows, the first pictures of Tartosa World and Moonwood Mill with their new textures. Both are finished around 95% and should be ready in the coming week :) Maybe next Tuesday.

I said no, not my priority. And then, I said one week ago : let's find a consensus :) And some of you send us coffees ... How to be ungrateful to people who cares so much of our work ? ;)
So, I worked all week long on 2 Worlds ... Meaning too there will be new updates for ALL the K-mods and not only the K-505 ;) Not everything at the same time : I need to sleep a bit, even with quality caffeine :D
And now, let's have look ;)
We still have to finish very few Tartosa files and it will be ok. And from sunshine to moonlight ...
As you see, many textures are already done in Moonwood Mill too :) As I said previously : around 95% so everything will be available very very soon !
