Storytime: There are four people with the same name as me where I work. Four. We outnumber the Sarah's. So my first day of work, they were like "hey, do you have a nickname you go by?" because the radio isn't by department, everyone's on the same channel.

There's only one nickname I have ever reliably responded to in my lifetime, and its the 14-year-old me's weeb nickname. I had 3 seconds to give an answer or be doomed to infinite radio confusion.

So I said, "Yeah, you can call me K-chan."

😂 And they did. The best part of having your 14-year-old weeb name as the professional name your colleagues call you at work is when they mess up. Like /I/ have never called myself K-chan during a FaceBook live or in front of an audience, but they have. And there's something truly glorious about having your sweet innocent coworker look like a total weeb when it's secretly you. 😆
