nyuszi (Hungarian) vs kuneho (Filipino)

A redraw of my Kuneho art ~2 years later :D
sad-ist kuneho meta??? ish????
WAIT if im assuming this correctly, sad-ist's animation involves a post-apocalyptic filipino world where aswang (filipino monsters) reign after its people become too greedy?
(1:08)
the newspaper reads “unang araw ng kadiliman” which translates to “the first day of darkness” in english. the text itself is baybayin, an alphabet used more commonly in northern luzon i believe? it was more prominent in pre-colonial philippines before the spanish introduced the roman alphabet to us.
baybayin does NOT have easy online translation tools. though, you can try translating manually, but if you can’t speak tagalog, it’ll be much harder. baybayin looks like this:
each letter doesn’t encompass a singular letter like in the english language, but instead a syllable. for example, the newspaper’s letters are divided kind of like this: “u - na - ng - a - ra - w - ng - ka - di - li - ma - n”.
ANYWAY, i might go to off topic if i speak further abt baybayin, but returning to the main point, the fact that this is most likely a newspaper kind of affirms this is a post-apocalyptic filipino setting instead of a pre-colonial one.
also, kuneho is a spanish-influenced tagalog word. it comes from the word “conejo” which means rabbit, so yeah, this place is most likely post-apocalyptic philippines.
(also since there are different parts of the video showing modern items)
so what caused the day of darkness? well lemme help out and translate the stone the kuneho touched
i believe this reads: “[obscured first text] kadiliman mula silang lalamunin ng kanilang sariling kasakiman babalik sila”
it’s a bit choppy and uses a lot of pronouns so we don’t really know who is being referred to here, but if i were to take a guess, the translation would be: “darkness begins from them being engulfed by their own freed, they will return”
while the pronouns/subjects referred to are a bit vague, i can somewhat guess what the text says depending on what happened in the video. so, it might go a little more something like: “the darkness will occur when people (probably filipinos) become engulfed with their own greed, and the aswang/filipino mythological creatures will return”
this is honestly VERY interesting, especially the “kasakiman/greed” aspect?? the main two things i think this could refer to when it comes to filipino society/culture would be a.) rich people, since the divide within filipino society is more centered on the gap between the poor and the rich. it’s fucked, because poor communities in the philippines are practically reliant on philanthropy to get by. our system is fucked, our population is growing, and this proceeds to point b.) OUR GOVERNMENT SUCKSSS. i can’t go into too much detail but the source of poverty COMES from how corrupt our government. funds are often meddled by public servants, we’re ranked 115 in the corruption index scale, the presidential candidate leading the polls rn is the son of a dictator who has the guinness book of world record of most funds stolen by a government - this is real, go google it.
so, my interpretation of sad-ist’s world is that it encompasses a filipino society at its absolute worst. where everything snaps because filipinos were finally pushed to their limits, and now we have to watch the remaining few filipinos fight to survive the consequences of a greedy society.
(also this is meant to cover what i think the gist of sad-ist’s video is about. it does NOT cover all references to filipino culture. you can ask me questions about what i think the monsters/aswang represent, but i’m not an expert :P)
art dumps from Twitter 3/? -Stuff I've made with fandoms I liked
HELLO! Time for another round of me dumping my art from Twitter and explaining stuff. I'll be honest, this was one I was very hesitant to do, but I'd be a bit of a disservice so let's get this over with and I hope you enjoy
This one was if my OC's were residents in the world of SAD-ist's animation, kuneho. I'll be honest seeing it again made me smile and watch the animation again.
This one was actual OC's set in that world, I had no name for them, however, I remembered their dynamic was of "you keep a monster with you since it seems friendly to you".
This was my attempt at drawing William Mason's armor, I'm surprised how well it turned out.
This was from a time I was bored and I wondered what some of my characters looked in clothes of series I enjoyed at the time, for Willa it was Anne while another, Eric was one of the submas bros, blame @far-from-official for introducing me to that area of the poke-fandom.
This holds a special place in my heart, During my more active time in the MW fandom, I made up an au where Michael was a detective and a demon hunter, I think I have a few of my fics floating around ao3 (you won't find them with mine though, this was when I didn't have any account there).
This was from a time when I still liked FnF, granted I still do, but it's more of an empty husk of what it used to be.
another thing MW related, but this was a crossover with my story group beacon, I even made a fic on this but it's been on hiatus for a while, might continue it once I start group beacon proper.
These two were both connected for a time, the bottom one was my Roblox avatar (with A LOT of creative liberties) and another being an OC for a game I used to play called "kaiju paradise", their name was "Roon" I believe they were a Hazzy(?). When thinking of my stories, primarily group, I had an idea where the two were close friends, and it was my first time making a character with animal features and drawing fur. It's safe to say I'm proud of how it turned out.
Anyway, expect more in the future.
Look at this edit I just made! :D
