Had a friend come and watch me do the orangutan talk today. She was incredibly sweet and said that I spoke with a lot of confidence

It honestly means the world to me when people (including the public) tell you that you did a good job. I used to absolutely despise public speaking so to be able to stand up there and give a talk that people are invested in means the world

Happy National Bird Day!

Only a few years ago, I never would have imagined myself working with birds. Now I've worked with a flock of beautiful parrots for two years, and I'm hooked. Here's a couple of the colorful genius dinosaurs that I've had the pleasure to serve.

This is Penelope, the opossum at the zoo where I work l, sitting in her "weight bucket" so we can keep track of how much she weighs. She is a very good girl. That is all. I hope this beautiful opossum made your day a little better.
