My Strange Hero is a 30-episode romance comedy drama starring Yoo Seung-ho (I'm Not a Robot, Remember), Jo Bo-ah (Goodbye to Goodbye, Sweet Stranger And Me) & Kwak Dong-yeon (ID: Gangnam Beauty). This will be comeback drama of Yoo Seung-ho after a year, the new work of Jo Bo-ah after being well received for her acting in Goodbye to Goodbye, and Kwak Dong-yeon’s first villain role following his debut.

<My Strange Hero> is about a man named Kang Bok-soo (Yoo Seung-ho), who returns to his old school to enact revenge after he was expelled as a student due to a false and terrible accusation. He returns to school as an adult and plans revenge, but gets swept up in a series of other incidents. However, he soon becomes entangled again with his first love from the past, Son Soo-jung (Jo Bo-ah), and Oh Se-ho (Kwak Dong-yeon), the childhood friend of Kang Bok-soo and the current chairman of Seol Song High School’s board of directors.

Yoo Seung-ho’s kind nature, friendly appearance, and optimistic personality are similar to those of main character Kang Bok-soo. Kang Bok-soo re-enters high school with the intentions of being a small hero, but the school is no longer a place for love and romance. Yoo Seung-ho will be able to show the charms of a failed, small hero. Jo Bo-ah will capture viewers’ attention as she takes on the role of the cute, confident and blunt Son Soo-jung. Jo Bo-ah will showcase her “first love” charms in the drama with her lovely personality. Kwak Dong-yeon will show a completely different image from what he has shown in his previous works. He is surprising everyone by being perfectly in sync with his character. This will also mark Produce 101 S2 Yoo Seon-ho's first public broadcast station drama debut, after making his web drama acting debut.

On top bringing back faint memories of one’s first love, < My Strange Hero > will be a drama that makes viewers want to fall in love, and it will also set their hearts racing. This drama will be directed by Ham Joon-ho, who previously co-directed Wok of Love

Character & Cast

Yoo Seung-ho (as Kang Bok-soo)

27 years old. Born as a son of a shabby Chinese restaurant family. He is handsome, fight well, tall and always popular. He was falsely accused of committing violence and kicked out of school. Now an adult, he tries to get revenge by returning to the same high school.

Jo Bo-ah (as Son Soo-jung)

27 years old. Son Soo-jung grew up in an environment with no one to support her. Although she is petite, Soo-jung is as strong as a man, with a sharp tongue and crafty tactics. Son Soo-jung has always been first in her high school days, until she met Kang Bok-soo who has a naive personality.

Kwak Dong-yeon (as Oh Se-ho)

27 years old. He is the childhood friend of Kang Bok-soo and the current chairman of their high school’s board of directors. He is a young man who constantly carries a gentle and soothing smile. He has a feeling of love, hate and inferiority towards Kang Bok-soo, because Kang Bok-soo was always happy even though he was not good at studying.

Yoo Seon-ho (as Yoo Shi-on)

19 years old. He is a student with desirable facial features of a classic pretty boy that it disturbs his everyday life. However, he is actually very tough and manly.

Nam Joo Hyuk Talks About Chemistry With Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun!

On August 24, SBS’s “Scarlet Heart: Goryeo” held a press conference ahead of the drama’s broadcast.

Nam Joo Hyuk who portrays the 13th prince and Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun who acts as Princess Woo Hee will have a romance in the drama.

The actor praised his co-star and said, “I was happy to be able to act with Seohyun. Since Seohyun is pretty I was able to express emotions automatically.”

Seohyun talked about her casting and commented, “Girls’ Generation members were really envious when they heard that I would be acting in this drama. I think it was because so many cool actors are in it.”

She also complimented Nam Joo Hyuk and said, “Since I am Nam Joo Hyuk’s junior when it comes to acting, Nam Joo Hyuk helped me a lot. He had great manners at the filming set.”

“Scarlet Heart: Goryeo” is a drama about a 21st century female who gets transported to the Goryeo Dynasty and experiences the power struggle between princes. The first two episodes are scheduled to air on August 29.
