I got my first Keitai in the mail! The red screen is so cool!
My first time running a Ketai! Going in blind lol
I named him Aku because its the only hirigana I can write/say. Apparently it can mean "to begin" so its fitting!
Tama Mail!!! :D
With my bday coming up, finally got a few Tamas. It IS one of those hobbies where you pay for what you get, so it wasn't perfect, but spoiler, at least everything works :)
Particularly, I've been after the Autumn Leaves (or any Morino) for awhile now. This one has issues, but it runs, so I can at least try it out before upgrading to one in better condition. Also, snagged a green OG case for the Morino. Also, forgot to take more pics of Puni Tapi-Chan, but the boba tea collection game looks fun and relaxing. I got it for my wife to try, since it doesn't have any hardcore raising mechanics and she loves boba milk tea!
As you can see there's a ton of battery leak rot on the contacts. There's even some on the side contacts. I did my best to clean it up (used this video as a guide) but it didn't help a lot (advice is solid, my device has been neglected). Hopefully it runs well for a few rounds. This wasn't disclosed in the listing, but it did show the device working in the listing.
I used some Goo-Gone and cleaned this gal right up! I added a battery and she's working well. Sure, it's missing the keychain (and so is the Entama) but they work and didn't break the bank. Plus, I'm gonna make custom chains for them.
Mimitchi is my favorite Tama character! This recently released plush keychain is cute! Since her body is white though, not sure if I'll use it outside display/limited outings.
I'm also a huge Digimon fan, so getting these prize figures after ages and for only $6 a peice, was a steal! They were both NIB and I'm happy to say Yamato looks better in person than the box art shows. They're also a decent size and quality for the cost!
So excited to run them! :) I'll let you know how it goes, since they are all in Japanese might take me a bit to learn the ins and outs...
Keitai Kaitsuu Akai Tamagotchi Plus Review
So I’ve been running my Keitai “Mo” for about a month and a half now and wanted to go over what I like and dislike about this model. If anyone has been debating getting one, maybe this list will help you decide!
NOTE: This is a Japanese model, entirely in Japanese. This seems like a dumb thing to complain about so I won’t sort it as either a Pro or a Con.
Pros of the Keitai Kaitsuu Akai:
✔ The red pixels. They were a fantastic aesthetic choice and I greatly enjoy the look of them.
✔ The characters. Though not as diverse as other connections, the character possibilities are all extremely cute and I’ve enjoyed each one. Every teenager in odd generations is fruit themed! There’s one based on an apple, one on a strawberry, and one on a tomato.
✔ The shell choices. This is obviously subjective, but you can see from this list of shells that all the akai designs are very cute and charming.
✔ The beeps! They’re of a higher pitch than that of English connections. They’re incredibly cute!
✔ The back button animations. Pushing the “C” button plays a unique animation for each character.
✔ The Akai is not as hard to come by as I thought it would be. Though less common than, say, v3s, you can still find US-based sellers on Ebay and Mercari and such. You can also order them from Japan. The prices are roughly that of v3′s and other American connections.
Cons of the Keitai Kaitsuu Akai:
✖ No pause function! This is obviously a pain in the rear at times. It can be muted, but there is no way to put the device on hold, aside from using the “set date/time trick”, or not pressing any buttons on the morning that you’re supposed to name a new baby- this is how I left Mo a few days ago.
✖ The games are weird and non-intuitive. You definitely need to consult the guides to figure out what you’re supposed to be doing. Even then, using the games to earn points feels a bit like a waste of time, because.......
✖ An old man shows up a couple times a day to try and sell you items. It’s kind of an annoying system because it alerts you each time and nothing he sells is particularly interesting. If there was a way to opt out of his visits I would.
Anyway, that concludes my review [so far] of the Keitai Akai! If anyone has questions feel free to message me!
Just got my Akai pink tea k tama!!! To me the display is a bit hard to look at but I’m still super excited to hatch this bb. ❤️💕
