So. On my way home from school with my boyfriend, we saw what looked to be a homeless man holding a sign. The poster was bright white, but it looked like there was nothing written on it. When we got closer, he noticed us and flipped the sign over and all it said was "Hi". He smiled and waved at us. All my boyfriend could say is "I wish I had a dollar." We talked about that on the way home, and I thought how simple the sign was, yet it made me extremely happy. I also thought about how grateful I needed to be with what I had, yet how strong he was because even though he didn't have much, even though he could ask for money, all he said to the cars passing by was a simple "hi" with a smile. It's not much, but it is a memory I wish to keep.
