schedule solo - deepened recording. 

it was funny how things changed as the years past.

if rookie kami, even the kami a few years ago saw that she'd only have a rap part, only appearing for section. she would've been upset. but now, she found herself not caring as much. there was the fact that she liked the song itself, so even if she would be nothing but dancing for most of it, that wasn't a problem. she wouldn't be putting on a face while she waited for the song to pass.

it was something she could vibe too.

but now, she was releasing music on her and promotions often overlapped with her groups. it meant more work. but the biggest reason for this song was the whole rap. so far, this had was the best rap the company given her and as soon as she heard the demo, kami knew how she wanted to deliver it. ( there was also the bonus that she'd have to spend less time in the studio. ) that was the reason she showed up to the recording with an extra bounce in her step.

it was a little surprising, she wasn't like this all of the time. at least not when it came to gal.actic's music. it was a normally a mixed response but today was different. she bounced into the studio when it was her turn and went right to the booth once she spoke to the producers. there would be no harmonies or anything she needed to record, maybe some doubling for her personal part but it wouldn't take long.

they went through the rap at first, letting it come normally as she tried to perfect how she wanted to deliver it. this needed a little more emotion but it had to be tough at the same time. after a few tries she was finally ready to put on the headphones and get in the proper head space to give her best show. the music played and kami got lost in it.

there were a few takes, just small things she wanted to change in how she did it but it was clear to everyone that she was invested. there was a bit towards the end that she wanted to get down perfectly, since everything had a straight forward flow for the most part. there were small things she had been able to work in there to make it more her but overall, she was happy.

a few more lines were recorded, mostly for small ad-libs or to get backing vocals but it hadn't taken long. or if it had, she hadn't felt like it. it was rarely this fun and she was rarely this engaged. quickly enough, they wrapped up and few bows and thank you, kami was out the door.

sch solo

making her rounds wasn't a problem.

not much really. though, nothing had changed from the time she came by for her own promotions. the only difference was that her group-mates were with her this time around. which was fine for kami. that had been the only down-side of solo promotions. she could admit, her members were better at variety and talk shows. if there was one thing she was happy about, it was having people around to be able to answer the questions that she wasn't able too. ( well, she could but it just felt draining. )

so she was looking forward to kiss the radio this time around.

there were the normal greetings, being able to bow her head and quickly move to her seat. other than making a fool of herself, there wasn't anything to worry about really. ( it was always unspoken but there. she didn't normally talk about her solo work while with the gal.actic but she would talk about gal.actic during her solo work. ) now her focus was on figuring out what she wanted to say.

funny stories, talks about training. all of these things were normal and bound to come up. and kami being kami, her answers were always pre-pared. ( every once in a while, a curve-ball would come but she'd always manage. ) all she had to now was smile and play along like she was currently doing.

and she was doing pretty well if she said so herself.

every once in a while, a question would fly her way and she managed a pretty good answer. the best part had been being able to perform their song. yeah, they didn't have an audience but it always felt good to get lost in a performance. and it was one area where she always felt comfortable.  performing was what she loved and radio's had a better aspect, they were live and the fans got  a chance to really hear them. it was a bit different during music shows and at concerts. you really couldn't hide anything when it came to radio.

it was something she loved.

and when it was over, she was sad. it was always the best part of the promotions. solo or in a group. finally, the thank yous and the bowing came. she was almost the first to raise but stopped herself a bit. ( she couldn't look to eager to leave. ) it didn't take too long for them to leave after that, they were able to leave with smiles and knowing that they wouldn't have do the radio circuit for a while.

schedule solo

she was tired.

it wasn't often that kami said that but it was true this time around. and not because she found herself practicing constantly. that wasn't something that really tired her out but hanging out with her mom? yeah, that could pull a lot out of her. simply, because they had a lot of fun.

but allowing her mother to trap her into a harry potter movie marathon? the night before a fan-sign? yeah that would due in her in.

the stylist managed to hide it at least. ( it also helped that the more she moved around, the more awake she felt. ) at least she would have something new to talk about. those thoughts repeated until they were told to go out and kami had to force herself to pay attention. the yells were loud and kami couldn't help but smile. they might not have a huge fandom but that didn't stop them from being loud and cheerful. the normal greetings were made.

fan-signs never really changed but there was a big different between doing them solo and being in a group. she didn't feel as tired after they performed a few small songs, she didn't have to do it alone. and when it came to attention, there were more than enough members to help give all of that attention. in the end, that meant she could be a little more silent.

and silent she was.

until she mentioned in passing that she didn't watch harry potter until this year. ( a true fact but at this point, she felt like it been around long enough. she didn't need to really watch it to know it. ) that caused a bit of an uproar that had been settled when she promised to read the books and post updates. ( and then she had the sudden idea for a youtube series. a fresh idea for her channel given by fans. )

kami would also describe that as her high point. the rest of her time spent was walking around the stage and posing for fan photos or reacting to her members. and seeing as she was last when it came to the line-up, most of her convos with fans were short, just having enough time to sign and give them a smile. honestly, it was how she liked it, all she needed to was smile a bit and wave them away.

( yeah, she was tired. )

by the time it was over, she wasn't as tired but it felt good to be able to back stage again. she could finally allow herself the chance to simply relax.

schedule solo

she just knew today would be a long one.

sometimes it wasn't until time to film gal.actic's music video that she realized how much she had on her plate.  gal.actic promotions,  her music video recording for don't know you. ( and she was mentally happy that they didn't have to worry about how's this music video filming as it was already out of the way. )  and then was our song, the final version was due in the few days and kami wondered if she should do a little testing.

but she wasn't given much time to think about it.  as soon as they arrived onto set, it was time to get changed and film.  the outfits, even if they were uniform, did look good this time around. she could complain and she might letter but kami just let the staff do as they wanted.  the dance scene's came first, which she understood. they'd be using water and paint and other things so no need to ruin the outfits right away.  who could really argue against that? it seemed like a good idea and who was she too chose. ( though, there was more freedom when it came to her solo work, with gal.actic there wasn't a way to let really take control of the create process. )

that was fine as well.

it wasn't until the time came for solo scene's that she really allowed herself to wake up. ( if only because more of a focus would be put on her. )  and she couldn't deny it looked cool, a white door-way paired with a white outfit as she did her rap. it wasn't as if it was much of a problem, posing next to it, in front of it or on the side of it.  it wasn't too bad. ( along with stopping every few second so she could see what it looked like once it was recorded. )  then she was rushed to change again, a towel thrown over her once they finished so they could work on their hair.

the next scene was a tad bit more dangerous. water on the floor, they got a few shots of dancing in the water first. then a chair was brought out and she had to various poses, hands on her face, upside down in the chair and other close ups before they were done.

by the time the entire process was finished, kami was ready for bed. ( or at least getting back to her studio so she could work on the song more. )

she had at least two months of 'rest'

in which, she wasn't actively promoting. she had about two months to focus on not only her comeback but gal.actic's as well. and that alone meant rest wasn't something she was going to get.

in fact, one might say that she never allowed herself to rest. ( and sometimes she wondered when her burnout would come. ) moving on, she was back at her house, sitting on her bed with something drink beside her. this time she was going to have a personal listen to the demo's. away from the company and just a review of the album.

she had been busy and it had been a while since she actually listened her group's music. she wouldn't deny it, she focused on recording and performing gal.actic but she really only paid attention to the title track at this point. unless she was writing for the group.

so why not take the time now and look the music and her parts. ( then she'll be prepared for recording. it was a win, win. )

from bad man crying, she could tell it might be a her album. it wasn't anything special but set the tone. it was very her and not at the same time. it was perfect for gal.actic's kami and not to far from her own work, with subtle differences. that aside, it was a nice song but it didn't capture her interest much. ( still, she liked what she heard a little more than some of the tracks. )

black swan..it felt as it could be a good title track from what she heard. so far, the only thing that stood out was the chorus. she knew they'd be recording and making changes but kami had a pretty good idea of why it was picked as the potential title track. when the next demo played, she could tell right away that she wasn't that interested in what she heard so far. there was a chance that the final, final version would be different but it left her on the fence.

the next demo left her a bit confused. it didn't sound bad, in fact kami did like it but it felt out of place. very different from the tone that had been established. it was jarring and she wasn't sure if it was a good move or not.

then her break came. ( one she had been forced to give herself when she noticed they had went a little numb. )

privacy kept the mood going but it sounded like it was a better fit than the previous track. ( it was jarring even as she walked around listening to the one play. ) kami could tell it already had a better balance. this was one she hopped she enjoyed the final for. there was a chance to get it very right. and then she landed on the last track and right away it was pretty easy to tell what type this was going to be.

a ballad to close the album out.

and there really wasn't anything wrong with that, even if it sounded a bit generic. it wasn't a bad song, just not for her and that had to be okay. and once that listen was over, she had another listen through and then she was done with it. it sounded like it'd be a good mini.

( and she'd take anything as long as it wasn't cute. )

it really was a trip down memory lane.

the entire time they practiced, she hadn't realized how much she had forgotten of their old dances. ( and don't get her started on the remembering actual lyrics. )

but she couldn't get upset.

they had work and this was work and they had fans. it was something she had to remind herself during the days leading up to this event. but now it was here and kami had her game face on as soon as they entered. ( she'd have to take some time herself to check it out. ) as soon as they stepped in, they were ushered towards the back and soon enough they were ready to perform.

a trip down memory lane.

it was a trip. even when it came to someone like you, it was slightly cute but it was nothing like their debut. nothing at all like their debut. ( it also made her wonder how many fans really enjoyed gossip girl? like really enjoyed it? ) but at least her enjoyment seemed real enough. her laughs were held back with a smile which added to the performance at least. and as soon as they did their more recent singles, she was back in her comfort zone. it was the simple fact that this was a mini-concert, the fact that they had work to do.

( a small reminder that gal.actic wasn't dead. )

in the end, it was fun performing. if there was anything she'd cling too, it would be that. along with the fact that this was great prep for her own solo concerts coming up. ( when she'd have to dominate the stage by herself. and thinking about that made her extra giddy, it gave her a little more bounce in her performance. )

once when it was over they finally got a chance to check out the gallery themselves and interact with their fans. even if she cringed, it was a nice little trip down memory lane for her looks at least. staring at supa dupa diva and ending at their debut, she had grown up at lot. it was pretty amazing seeing how comfortable she became too.

the fans would love it either way but kami could tell when she finally got it. when she finally felt comfortable being herself.

( it makes her thing she'd like to have a solo event like this too, once she released more music. )

a few more rounds and she was finally guided to the back. they were allowed to leave and she was happy about it. not that she wanted to be away from her fans, no. she just had a lot more planned for them.

sch solo

she hadn't worked on her chinese in a while, a long while.

when the company told them about the fan-meet, it felt like that was the first time she cracked open a book since high school. but it was a fan meet in another country and that was something to be excited about, so she studied as hard as she could.

( it didn't make much a different by the time the fan meet came around. )

at least she had a few well practiced words that she could she toss out during the fan-meet, that way she wouldn't have to rely on the translator too much. despite all of that, when the day came for the fan-meet ( package into a nice mini-vacation. ) kami was pumped for it. she had no no trouble meeting the video quota either ( but that was a story for another time. ) soon enough, they're called out and the first thing she does his wave. the introductions were quick and they moved along nicely.

she tried her hand at introducing herself in chinese and it didn't go too bad. ( maybe studying did help. ) and she managed not to rely on the translator as much. going towards the edge of the stage and simply waving at fans or posing for photos. that wasn't hard too do and the fans seemed to like it.

they love it when the group performs a song or two. at least they had a market here.

but the truly fun interactions were those when the fans came to gift their stuffed signed. she was at the end of line which was fine for her, it gave her time to work on what to say. thankfully, no one tried to have entire conversation with her and some of the fans even tried their hand at korean.

she even got a few gifts. ( her eyes going wide at the camera, she gratefully accepted that. )

and there was even more delight when someone had copies of her solo albums to sign. ( you couldn't really blame her when she gave this fan extra attention. ) everything passed like that, she was enjoying herself and that was the biggest thing.

at some point they tried to play a guessing game and it's easy to guess how that went. but their fans enjoyed it ( and she still had to marvel at the fact that had enough fans here. )

when it was time to say goodbye, she wondered how many more of these gal.actic would have in the future. anywhere. how many she'd be able to have on her own.

feb sch.

when the company first told them they'd do an eight hour live stream, kami questioned it. but after a little explaining, she liked the idea.

doing this wasn't a big deal even if she hadn't greeted her fans in a while. it was best to keep a low profile until it was comeback time. ( and it still amazed her that she hadn't been put out of the comeback. ) so this was a chance to make up for lost time. the first hour went by without a hitch. she was happy that her's wasn't right after. it gave her time to nap until an hour or so before it was time for her to get on. once she woke up, kami milled about for a second, going over what she would do for her an hour. there was sort of a plan, it was going to be a mukbang but she wanted to slip some fun things in there.

speaking of that, she had to order.

and her meal arrived just in time, a few minutes before she started her mukbang once everything was set up, she went live. bowing to the camera before she seated herself and gotc comfortable. there was a table in front of her with some food, cola, a bottle of soju and other thing's she would need. and next to that, there was a phone so she could check comments and let it auto scroll. if there was a chance, she wanted to answer some questions.

"happy valentines day my me.teors!" she took a second to read the comments while she started to open the food. "today, is a valentines day mukbang, let's have fun for the next hour!" and what an hour it would be. she hopped at least. it was easy for the most part, simply chatting and eating. she'd answer or respond to. some were trolls and she ignored those and the ones about her scandal ( if it could be called that. ) even if they were in her favor.

then enough was enough of the food but they still had fifteen minutes or so to go, so she slowly started to clean up, not paying much attention to the phone. "i'll sing a song or two?" she had enough for one song and a least a little bit of a teaser. when she started the first song, kami went a fairly well known but easy ost. something very easy for her to sing without much thought.

for the next tune, she started to sing a few lyrics of i wander, going back to look at the comments now that she was finished cleaning. her face lit up with a smile as fans asked the same. all she did was smile in return and give them a grin.

"our time is up for now! i'll see you in a few hours!" now she could nap a little more.
