10.11.22 — Tuesday

It's been a hot minute since I've made a post, so here are some pretty skies for you.

Boy is my life different these days. I just celebrated a small anniversary with my boyfriend, whom I truly love more than anything. Fate surrounds us in the most beautiful ways, and I can't wait to see where it takes us.

I'm officially a published poet! I have 2 pieces in my uni's art publication, and I've submitted 2 more for next year's edition—I've not heard back yet whether or not they've been chosen, but I'm confident these are among my best works.

School has been a bit stressful, I've subjected myself to more work than I've ever had before. At the moment I'm in 3 English courses, 1 linguistics, and 1 sociology. The subjects tend to overlap, which is efficient, but it's just so much reading.

Hopefully 2nd year defines the difficulty level for the rest of my years... One can hope.

04.16.22 — Saturday

It's been a busy week. I'm currently working on my last of three total essays, each between 5 and 6 pages in length. It's been tiring, to say the least... Not to mention I have two exams this upcoming week to study for after I finish this poem comparison paper.

Thursday I went to a party with my best friend and her new boyfriend, one of those classic country parties where everyone gathers in the garage and talks with music playing and drinks in hand. I don't drink, so I spent the night entertaining my very intoxicated best friend and making sure she didn't fall down the stairs lmao. It was a nice enough break from the chaos of uni, but at the same time it was a day I could've spent on school things...but sometimes you just need to take breaks, y'know?

09/10/21 — Friday

Today was my 2nd day of university classes (I don't have any on Tuesdays or Thursdays). It was a rainy day, so after attending my 3 lectures from 8:30am to 11:20am, I headed to the Commons to do some notes for my Chemistry and Intro to Microeconomics classes. I snagged the only available study room and spent until around 1:20pm in there. They're really cool, like a little office! I would've stayed longer, but I got an emergency alert that I had to evacuate my campus immediately...

I still don't know 100% what happened but everyone was rushed out suddenly and they haven't given us anything more than vague details. It's a little annoying, especially since I'm not allowed to return until they say. I can only imagine what the people locked in residence are thinking...

It just released at the start of the week, but I only got the opportunity to listen to it today. I'm a huge Day6 fan—I listen to their entire discography—so I've been anticipating Young K's solo for quite a while.

11/20/21 — Saturday

It's been a while, huh? I felt like posting just to update a bit.

University has gotten a lot harder for me since getting a job, especially as business is picking up and I'm working a lot more. I just feel physically and mentally tired, and my grades dropped a lot. I'm working on fixing up my schedule to accommodate school better.

I'm getting along great with my coworkers! They've been so welcoming and kind to me since the beginning, and I can call many of them friends now. I'm learning things about our products every day to better myself as an advisor, and today I sold 7 coverage plans (a pretty big deal where I work)!!

My school-work-life balance has been very out of whack for the past month but I'm working on it. With the money I'm making I've been slowly building a book tower of things to read, and today I bought those two new Pokémon games. I plan to get my hands on this really nice little color printer—if only it would restock ㅠㅠ

Overall life has been up and down, but I'm powering through! Things get better every day :)

10/06/21 — Wednesday

It's been a pretty productive week thus far. Ever since discovering the peaceful ground floor of the Commons, I no longer fear spending extended periods of time alone on campus with nothing to do. It's very private down there, and there's a huge window with sunlight always streaming in. It's also always available, which is especially hard to come by anywhere else on campus.

My marks are steadily improving as well. I had two tests, one of which I scored a 92% on. The other one I'm not so confident in, I haven't gotten the mark back yet. This week in chem though I got 105.5% on an assignment, and just today I got 120% on the weekly quiz. Bonus marks are a godsend 🤌🏻

09/27/21 — Monday

Today was honestly pretty good for a Monday. The weather was beautiful, my job interview went amazing, and I invested in a lapdesk and book light.

The girl that interviewed me had the exact same music taste as me, and we even shared an ult bias...if that's not fate idk what is. We literally talked about random stuff for like 20 minutes, it was barely even an interview at that point. It felt like we had been friends for ages.

As for my purchases, I haven't had a lapdesk in years and it was more of an idle interest that has now become such a good purchase. Totally worth it, not to mention it's really pretty.

The goodness of the day is really helping me to get caught up in chem in preparation for my midterm next week. I really wasn't expecting one so early...

I also have a ton of music to listen to tonight, which is always very exciting!

10/08/21 — Friday

I spent a few hours alone today, studying and watching YouTube in the dining hall. I oddly like the hum of conversation more than the deafening silence of the Commons.

I got a job today! Though I missed my shot with the bookstore, I was hired to work in sales for the main tech store in my city. I'll be making above minimum wage, and the employee discount is arguably the best of any retail store. I can finally get myself the laptop I've been wanting, and for an outstanding price! I'm so excited to get started, everyone working there is around my age and shares some similar interests. Something I've been looking forward to in getting a job was the friends I'd make and the people I'd meet.
