i took some time to gather my thoughts with the help of a friend <3
anyways
basically the roleswap au is connected to a timeloop au where the mc trio is stuck in a timeloop together. the three of them do become aware of the loops, with Wemmbu being the first one (Wemmbu thinking everyone else is losing it vs Parrot & Spoke thinking they are the ones losing it / SILLY)
loops happen when something that isn‘t meant to happen does happen (e.g. one of the mc‘s dying when not meant to) or something doesn‘t happen when it‘s supposed to (e.g. someone not dying when they are supposed to). loops do not happen when unimportant things happen, such as 90% of conversations, direct messages, etc. which is why the mc trio can communicate about the loops technically
the roleswap loop happens most likely when the mc trio comes together and does something very stupid. not sure yet what it should be, but it‘s basically overloading the server/data of the loop to the point of where the server has no idea what data goes where, resets it and messes it up. The main things that change is the placement of the mc trio between each other - this of course changes dynamics too, but the general storylines try to stay the same with minor changes
as said before, Parrot takes on Wemmbu‘s role, Spoke is put in Parrot‘s role and Wemmbu is thrown into Spoke‘s role
the mc trio is practically forced to follow along the original storyline except with changed roles and relieve these in another loop over and over again until they can fix it somehow
yes, this means that Spoke has to go through what he originally put Parrot & Wifies through. Or that Parrot is forced to handle Zam and learn to use the mace later on. Or that Wemmbu has to go through the struggle of figuring out how the exploits work and redo what happens afterwards etc etc.
the mc buddies (Wifies, Egg, Mapicc) and others generally don‘t change, but the dynamic with their new mc does ofc differ (such as Parrot and Egg will not have the same dynamic as Wemmbu and Egg ofc, etc)
