16. How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Share one of them?

UHHHHH like 5-10 maybe??? on the wip list???? there's one i haven't even STARTED writing but i've talked thru w yumi that is basically like. persona 5 royal but vampires and stealing souls and witchcraft. akechi as a vampire who can pass as human and joker missing his soul/being able to manipulate other people's souls. lots of fun vampire lore modpodged together, incl. "drinking more blood = being more human" and "being killed by a vampire is actually removing your soul and sending it to hell the holy grail"

24. Worst writing advice anyone ever gave you?

hmmmm. i feel like i havent gotten too much bad writing advice? other than being in workshop for grad school and getting feedback on poems that was definitely Not Applicable Or Going To Work. if i think of anything concrete tho i'll come back to this

40. If someone were to make fanart of your work, what fic or scene would you hope to see?

OH MAN. lowkey ive always wanted an art of rin and shidou standing on the bay bridge from dtootc, or maybe the rinbachisagi cuddles from chapter 3. but also anything from "we wrote a prelude," maybe kaisae on the swings or at the beach before their breakup??? or. felix stabbing sylvain from my stabsexual sylvix fic lmao

70. When asked, are you embarrassed or enthusiastic to tell people that you write?

mildly embarrassed but mostly proud if they're fellow fandom ppl!! most of my IRLs dont know i write fic alhsdkfjsdf and i would be embarrassed for them to find out im ngl. HOWEVER my brother did find out that i wrote the gay r2/3po poem that blew up on twitter in 2023 and he and his friends all thought it was super cool. he asked if i'd be able to sell a book of star wars poems. i was like well. probably not for copyright reasons. but it made me feel good anyway

How many WIPs do you currently have?

Oh my god too many to count (will count them anyway) okay it's like 8 blue lock WIPs and 6 for other fanbases (mostly lookism + two for satosugu)

7. What fic are you the proudest of?

Okay I said my tabiori soulmate AU in my other answer but in truth it probably ties with the character study I wrote about kaiser where he has fucked up messy relationships with sae/ness/lorenzo/his own self image. This is mainly because Kaiser is my favorite guy from blue lock (sometimes) and also because I love the AU itself (things people say about you appear on your skin) even though I borrowed it from an ancient AOT fic somewhere on tumblr.

18. How do you decide what POV to write in?

ooooo okay sometimes it just comes to me, like I start writing the fic and I go back and read the scenes I've written and they're all from one character's perspective. For some, eg. tabiori road trip, I tried out two POVs and figured out which one worked better based on what information I wanted to reveal and how early on I wanted to do it. A lot of the time when writing ship fic there's one half of the ship I naturally am more inclined towards writing the POV of (eg. I've realized recently I habitually like writing Karasu POV a lot) and so sometimes I purposefully choose to write the other half to switch things up. Other than that, if one of the characters the fic revolves around is particularly bad at communicating their emotions, it can be easier for me to write from their POV since it gets across all the complexities and sometimes their words and actions are both lying to you, eg. Kaiser (king of repression) and Hiori ('i will swallow this problem and wait for it to kill me from the inside')

26. What is your favorite part about writing?

Coming up with the plot! The initial stages are always very exciting, which is probably why I end up with so many WIPs. I love framing the general workings of the fic and imagining a playthrough of the entire thing. Sometimes I play a bunch of songs that remind me of the fic and then jot down scenes I imagine them in that I work into the plot. The downside to this is I have so many WIPs where I know exactly how they're going to end I just have not ended them.

38. Fic idea you're most excited to get to?

Isakai Fantasy AU. I wrote so much lore for this AU I considered different kingdoms and positions and background for almost every blue lock character but I haven't actually gotten around to writing most of the stuff in it.

🦋what are you most insecure about when you post a fic?

Usually it's less of an overt insecurity and more of a weird "I've been writing this too long and lost the ability to see it objectively and can no longer stand to look at it" adrenaline crash, so it's mostly a very general "Will people even like it?!" (sounds insane for me to question, all-considered) with a side of "Will it communicate what I wanted it to?" (less insane but also so far the answer's p much always been "yes, obviously").

🎉how often do you celebrate completing & posting a work? how often do you give yourself the credit/validation that you seek from others when you post? (if you don't, you should!)

Another confession that hopefully doesn't make me sound like a total asshole: I fully think that I am hot shit, HAHA, so despite what I just wrote above I generally spend most of my time like, "Yes, it's good because I made it good on purpose because I like and care about it!" hahaha. The ego contains multitudes, I guess, and I've gotten pretty alright at validating myself rather than looking for validation from others in this respect! Getting older helps.

I used to celebrate completing and posting a work more often, but less so over time, which is less because I think they're celebration-worthy and more because I write and post too fucking much at the moment for that to be reasonable. But finishing a multi-chapter fic or a series is always really fun!

26. Would you rather write a fic that had no dialogue or one that was only dialogue?

I think that I'd rather write a fic that has only dialogue if only because I think it'd be the more interesting challenge, particularly if it was longer.

49. What are you currently working on? Share a few lines if you’re up for it!

The next letter came while Dream was out taking care of the sheep. A week and a half later. Michael was pouting by the side of the pen, making faces at the sheep whenever Tubbo wasn't looking. Dream was just finishing up filling up the last water bin, and he'd meant to go check on one of the older sheep with a leg that'd been giving them trouble. But he was quickly diverted by sounds from the nether portal. Both Dream and Tubbo tensed, ready to move- And then a familiar blonde head poked out of the portal. Dream hadn't been expecting Punz, but a surprise visit was always welcome. The sight of his friend brought a bright grin to Dream's face, a grin that dropped just a moment later as the loud squeal of a sheep next to him reminded him that his tail was currently out and a safety hazard when he wagged it unchecked. Oops.

Aw, thank you so much for sending me this! <3 I've written a lot of fics, but my favorites have definitely changed over time... some I still adore, some I have a hard time looking at for a variety of reasons. These are in no particular order, but I'm especially fond of:

Calcium Carbonate, and Other Things That Run Bone Deep - Genshin Impact, Kaeya/Albedo, Rated M for Gore

Fondly nicknamed "vivisection makeouts fic" while I was writing it, this one was a very gratuitous "Albedo's (in)humanity clashes with Kaeya's desire to save Mondstadt" meet-ugly fic that I still really enjoy as a way that I got to wring both of their brains out like sponges. I was a little nervous when posting it due to the, y'know, vivisection makeouts, but it was received with overwhelming positivity that still makes me happy to think about.

How To Lose 800 Years of Cultivation - Heaven Official's Blessing, Feng Xin/Mu Qing, Rated E for Sexual Content

At one point I discovered how good of a method intimacy is for digging around in characters' brains, and this is the fic where I truly went ham with that. Like, there's a lot of sex in this fic, but there's also a lot of picking apart Mu Qing's issues with intimacy and sexuality, class inequality, and his perception of Feng Xin, who has his own shit to deal with but still fields it all like a champ. I've reread this like five times after publishing it and will definitely reread it again.

Dish Duty - Avatar: the Last Airbender, Zuko & Katara, Rated G

This is constantly threatening The Sword of Damocles is Swinging for being my most popular SFW fic (it has fewer hits but more kudos), and I like it because I think I did a really good job with capturing the canon tone of ATLA, as well as digging into the parts of Zuko's character that I was interested in excavating in it. Plus it had a fun little plot and adventure! It just turned into a really nice, self-contained fic that did everything I wanted it to.

Meng Yao's Guide to Sex and Love - MDZS, Lan Xichen/Meng Yao, Rated E for Sexual Content

I literally just finished writing this so obviously it's fresh in my mind, and I do actually have some things I find unsatisfying about it (the chapter arrangement, mostly), but I REALLY loved writing Meng Yao's modern AU version bag of cats brain and using this fic to learn more about both his and LXC's characterizations. Also, I just really like packing in canon-parallel worldbuilding into modern AUs for xianxia danmei series, and writing JGY & WWX friendship in general. Plainly, this was fun to write. My only #ragret is that now I'm really sick of writing cis smut and want to write trans!Meng Yao.

Smolder - Genshin Impact, Zhongli/Xiao, rated E for Sexual Content

I loved this when I wrote it, but now it's been forever since I've reread it and it's one of my favorites not so much for the fic itself but for how ridiculously popular it got. Very legitimately, I was wary of writing this ship at all in a way that was explicitly Not The Healthiest, and furthermore did not expect fandom to be so positive about trans characters (especially in smut). So it's just pleasing and also hilarious to me that my self-indulgent power imbalance smut ended up

And, as an aside: I think that a lot of my favorite fics have ended up comfortably in that 20-30k word range, which is interesting. I don't really write novel-length fics anymore (and only really did so one time, though it got very popular), and I think it's partly because I really just like to concentrate on the bits I'm interested in and write around everything else, letting people fill in the blanks based on what characters think and say.

Honorable mentions:

Both of the Xue Yang fics for having pretty few hits but extremely enthusiastic comments because the SXX community is baller like that.

The Beast of Pont Vanis, the only Witcher fic I've ever written, based on a song I've enjoyed and wanted to make a story out of since literally high school.

The Shinsou's Bad Days series, may I one day have the motivation to finish you.

The fic where I buried Albedo in an avalanche and let people do the math for how many days he was stuck there based on how many heartbeats he counted and how panic-tachycardic he was.
