I love how the words “dude” and “bro” are totally chill words to casually refer to your friends as. and they’re often used as gender-neutral terms, so you can casually call just about anyone a “dude” or a “bro” and it’s clearly a term of endearment

BUT when you combine those two words you get “dudebro” which is not only an insult but also paints a very specific picture of some asinine cishet guy. like anyone can be a dude or a bro but a dudebro is a very specific type of asshole.

me, lying awake at night, staring up at the ceiling: I wonder if unshaved pubes (or really unshaved hair on any part of the body) is seen as a more normal and acceptable thing in the BoJack universe. I mean, we know that a good chunk of this society is made up of non-human animals, many of whom are covered in fur. And we know that inter-species relationships are seen as totally normal and not weird at all in this universe. So like, in the real world, it already doesn't make sense for a dudebro to be "grossed out" by his partner's perfectly natural pubic hair. But in the BoJack universe it would make even less sense to be grossed out by that because this guy's history of sexual partners could very well include cats, rabbits, and other fur-covered animals and if he's cool with them having fur then why would he be against his human partners having body hair.
