Hello! Sending this through a submission since it wouldn’t fit in an ask.

I’m really sad to hear that the DGS translations got taken down… a lot of us were able to enjoy the game thanks to your efforts and I’m eternally thankful for that. I know how much time and hard work goes into translating and subbing, too, and the community is blessed to have someone like you that is willing to put in all that effort. So thank you so much for everything you’ve done.

At the same time, I feel like this video takedown was inevitable - after all, copyright issues /are/ a thing, and you did have the entire game uploaded on a public domain without legal permission. Regardless of the localization status of the game, I feel like this was bound to happen eventually. So I was a little shocked to see so many hateful posts towards Capcom coming from your social media.

It’s frustrating that they took down the product of a year’s(?) worth of hard work, but I don’t think it’s worth attacking the company for it. Being negative and hateful about the situation certainly won’t help get the videos back, much less convince Capcom to work on a localization. A lot of people were able to appreciate the game thanks to your efforts and I think we should be celebrating that instead of spreading hate on the internet.

sigh. ok. this is messy.

this project is manned by 2 main people, and a few supportive helpers who have been chipping in during the course of approximately 8 months.

i do the TL’s and my partner does the actual subbing. i started knowing full well that the TL’s could be suddenly stopped even a quarter into the project. i’ve been resigned to the fact that this will be inevitable, and if my work is stopped even halfway into the project, then so be it. still stings, but that’s more of cause, well, there’s no EN dgs in any form anymore.

i understand that it may seem confusing, but i wasn’t the one who made the post on that social media. i always have been only hanging out on tumblr as @dgsfucker. no where else.

i am painfully aware the tone of those messages are inappropriate, and have already told my partner (they own the YT channel) to rethink their posts. but unfortunately, i am not them. there is no communication between us when they made the post, and well, i did agree to remain mostly anonymous and quiet. 

so to be clear once again; i did not write those posts.

but a thousand excuses are still excuses, and i will forward this message to my partner.
