look at them go!
Hello!! I was wondering if it's alright to request something with Yamaguchi? I don't have a concrete idea, but if there's anything with ice skating it'd be perfect! OR another thing if you have something else in mind!! Thank you in advance!
I got you •Tadashi Yamaguchi x Reader•

"Why do we have to go ice skating?" Tanaka complained, trying not to break his ankles while walking on the skates towards the ice rink. "And why is your sister with us, Suga?" Noya asked, eyebrows furrowed as he eyed the sister of the vice-captain. "The last time I checked, I was the only one knowing how to ice skate properly. I'm just making sure you're not going to break your necks." She cockily grinned as she walked past them, stepping into the ice rink with ease, while Daichi gripped to the railing for dear life, and Asahi almost kneeled, trying to keep himself from falling.
While the other hesitantly got onto the ice, she skated away from them. "How is she not breaking her neck?" Hinata asked, who fell the second he stepped onto the ice. "She's been ice skating ever since she was little." Suga shrugged as he went onto the ice, and with the same ease as his sister, he started ice skating. "And so did I. Until I joined the volleyball team." He grinned, and if Daichi didn't have heart eyes before, he had them now. The last ones to step onto the ice were Tsukishima and Yamaguchi, Yamaguchi trembling as he held onto the taller one's arm to keep himself steady, while Tsuki gripped the railing to keep himself steady.
After Y/n and Suga showed the others how to move their feet to get forward and how to stop, they decided to try themselves, Tanaka and Noya kissing the ground more than they'd like to admit. The only one that stood back was Yamaguchi, not moving since Tsuki decided to go off on his own. Y/n frowned a bit as she stopped beside Yamaguchi, making him flinch. "What is it?" His face flushed as he looked at the gorgeous girl beside him. She made it seem like ice skating was simple as if you could learn it within five minutes, and he was making a fool of himself. Yamaguchi stuttered a bit, burying his face in his red scarf. "It's okay to be scared of something so unfamiliar to you." She reassured him with a smile. "I remember the first time Kōshi showed me how to play volleyball, and I was scared shitless. A ball coming full force towards your face? Not my cup of tea, honestly. I ran from the ball instead of passing it back to him." She explained, hoping to take some of the embarrassment off of him. "Let me help you, that's what I'm here for." Y/n smiled brightly, holding her hand out for him. Visibly hesitant, he took her hand into his gloved one. "But please, don't go too fast." He stuttered, face still crimson red. It was plain embarrassing. "Don't worry too much about what others think. I mean Noya, and Tanaka are married to the ice by now. Even Daichi and Asahi need help from Suga, and I guess Tsuki is just a natural. Kageyama and Hinata are clinging to each other to keep them from falling, and they're still falling. It's not embarrassing to need help." Yamaguchi only nodded, moving his feet slightly as she pulled him lightly, away from the railing.
She turned to him and reassuringly smiled as she took his other hand in hers. "You control the tempo." Slowly Yamaguchi started moving his feet while Y/n skated backward. "Don't look down." Immediately his eyes found hers, panic in them. "You make more mistakes if you concentrate on your legs. Just let them do their thing, if you fall, I'm here. I got you." He swallowed the lump in his throat, nodding, keeping his eyes focused on hers. The only time he lost eye contact was when she had to turn her head to keep herself from skating into the others. "Are you ready to go a bit faster?" Y/n asked, and despite the panic that bubbled up in Yamaguchi, he gripped her hands a bit tighter, nodding. With a small smile, both started going a bit faster, and he realized that this wasn't as bad as he thought it might be. Yamaguchi was still very unsure skating on the ice, but the more rounds they did together, and the faster they went, the more confident he got.
"I think I get the hang of it," Yamaguchi muttered as they came to a stop. "Do you want to try it by yourself?" She asked, a proud expression on her face when Yamaguchi nodded. "Alright, remember what I showed you, and you'll be just fine." Y/n let go of his hands, and he instantly regretted his decision as he had troubles keeping his balance. "I need to go help Asahi, else that poor boy will slide on his stomach across the ice. You sure you got this?" Y/n asked again, and even though his eyes were betraying the way he nodded with confidence, she nodded, leaving him. "You got this!"
"Asahi, stop putting your knees together like that! It's like running basically, and I don't think you run like that." Y/n sighed, holding onto Asahi's hands as he corrected his stand. "Sorry, I don't think ice skating is my thing." He sighed, looking at her. "Volleyball isn't my cup of tea either, but after Kōshi forced me to join the girls' volleyball team in Karasuno, I learned to love it. I still feel a lot more secure on the ice than in the air, but practice makes perfect." She said reassuringly. Even though she was helping Asahi, she couldn't help but let her eyes wander to Yamaguchi. Her eyes widened at the way he leaned back, slowly but surely losing balance, pure panic in his face.
Everything seemed to slow down when Y/n let go of Asahi's hands, as she sped over to him, leaning back, one of her hands on the ice as she put herself in a bridge position. Yamaguchi squeezed his eyes shut, waiting for the impact of the ice, but before that could happen, Y/n slid right under him, letting herself fall to the ground.
A loud groan escaped her mouth as her back collided with the ice and Yamaguchi's head with her stomach. For a few seconds, it was silent, the oxygen knocked out of Y/n's lungs. "I told you, I got you." Y/n's voice strained as she breathed heavily. "Are you okay?" Suga asked, eyes wide as he sped over to them, Yamaguchi's eyes wide in shock and mouth agape. The others slowly made their way over, circling the two on the ground. "I'm fine." Y/n muttered as Yamaguchi sat up, looking at her in shock, cheeks a light shade of red. "Why did you do that?" Kageyama asked, eyebrows furrowed in confusion as she tried to get rid of the adrenaline that pumped through her body. "Yeah, why did we all have to kiss the ground, but Yamaguchi didn't?" Tanaka was just as confused as looked at her, arms crossed in front of his chest. She sat up as she let her fingers comb through her hair. "Because you all fall forward, and save yourself with the diving technique you learned while playing volleyball. Also, falling forward is a lot more harmless than falling backward. When you fall on your back, you have no power of the speed, no control over how you're going to land. You can break your elbows or underarms, dislocate your shoulders, seriously injure your neck, and your head. Yamaguchi didn't brace himself for the fall, didn't know the techniques on how to fall and not hurt yourself. For all I saw, he probably would've split his head open." She explained as Suga helped her up, and she held her hand out for Yamaguchi. His eyes were teary as he looked at her hand, shame filling him up. Guilt was eating him up that she had to put herself in danger to help him, just because he was standing wrong. "Come on." She said, her voice soft as his eyes found hers for a split second, before grabbing her hand, allowing her to help him up. "I'm sorry," Yamaguchi said head bowed in shame as a single tear fell onto the ice. "Yamaguchi, I told you I got you. I'd rather get hurt than letting someone else get hurt, not if I can prevent it." She squeezed his hand tighter, making him look up at her.
After two more hours, everyone decided this was enough for today. Yamaguchi kept to himself, sitting beside Tsukishima, who got suspicious at how quiet his best friend was. "What's on your mind, pretty boy?" Y/n asked as she turned to Yamaguchi, making him look at her. "Are you sure you're okay?" He asked for the five-hundredth time that day as he fiddled with his fingers. "I merely have some minor back pain, but with the force from the fall, it's no wonder. Besides that, I'm doing fine." She reassured him as she put on her jacket, throwing the bag with her skates towards Suga with a grin, making him roll his eyes.
A hand wrapped around her forearm, making her stop in her tracks as the other kept walking. "Is there any way I can make this up to you? You put yourself in danger for me, there has to be a way-" "Buy me dinner, because hell, I'm starving." Y/n laughed, her laughter seeming to brighten his mood. A small smile covered his face. "Whatever you want." Y/n grinned, as Yamaguchi grinned back at her. "Kiss already!" Both of their heads turned to Tanaka and the rest of the group, everyone, expect Tsuki, smiling at them. "Let's see how dinner goes, and I might just think about it." And with that, Yamaguchi was a bright red stuttering mess, making Y/n laugh. She shook her head, her fingers lacing with his, which resulted in his brain turning into an 'error 404: page not found' message as she dragged him behind her, catching up with the rest of the group.
