Speculation post on the raiders plot in novelmore season 2

(No cut yet because i WILL put this show on your dash)

As we can see from the zeppelin short, Bayron's STILL after the invincibus, not knowing it was (mostly) destroyed

So it's safe to say he isn't being very successful. In general - chasing after something that ALREADY failed once? Not that smart tbh. They already had a variety of failed ideas in s1, but they kept getting close to success at least.

After all this, and now not even anything new, any battle plans, it would seem likely that his fighters grow tired of it. Maybe the main raider gang is even already having a discussion like "it can't continue like this" (do also wonder how Kahboom sees the situation just yet ...)

I know this clip is put there mostly as joke but yeah even here it is obvious that Bayron doesn't have any plans of attack and that his followers are kinda bummed out about it. In general, low point for the raiders

And now BOOM, new guy happens

We see him introducing himself as Clinton (??) Spark to the gang here first. The only one's reaction we see yet is Kahboom's and sks he's NOT vibing with this guy. Which makes a lot of sense. They might be out on a mission. I can imagine Spark approaching them like "I can help you" and at Least kahboom being against it (shady stranger offers help come on). But he does end up being useful (not sure what this bag is he's carrying, maybe that's related) and gets to introduce himself to Lord Bayron

He probably plays nice at first, given the bow and all, most likely again now offering his services (probably not speaking out against any of his plans yet to gain as much trust as possible)

Now, we technically don't know if Bayron accepts this help or not, but i assume it's the case. How else would spark manage to gain a following of other raiders. So i imagine that he starts introducing new plans and new spirit to the raiders. It's SO EASY to gain a following when the people are at their low point and you speak to them with power, with spirit, with plans to get them back out there and restore their pride!! (Dictator and military propaganda tactic throughout history, except that the raiders actually WANT to invade other places so sks good for them???)

Most raiders are excited about this guy, but not Kahboom and Brody. After all, they're both very loyal to Bayron so they would be sus of him. Eventually, Spark starts/reveals his plan of overthrowing Bayron. I assume that we and Brody find out about this together and it results in the scene where Spark and Brody fight

Brody probably doesn't really win though. Spark now uses his following to overthrow Bayron. We can tell he takes the throne directly not only by the "Lord Spark" but when starting his speech of today being a big day in raider history, we can see he is standing in the throne room. There is also this scene where raiders are possibly storming in there on his command?? Not so sure about the last one but still

We aren't sure what exactly his big plan is except that it involves a weapon ("The weapon is ready, Lord Spark!"). And most likely whatever Pyralia got away with in that one epic fall scene (you know the one).

So, he got Brody probably mostly out of the way, but Kahboom is still there. Not being happy about the overthrowing Bayron part at all, Kahboom's rather doubtful as opposed to his usual chaotic and excited self. But he is the only one. After all, he's the only with his dependance on approval from the current lord. Pyralia and Lucifex are all for the new leader and apparently don't got enough of an outside work bond with kahboom to NOT betray him and high five about it (possibly planned together with/ordered by Spark).

I assume this either happens after turning on Bayron when Kahboom is nervous and hesitates to go through with anything OR it's before turning on Bayron and they decide he's too much of a risk and/or useless cause he doesn't really wanna do it (honestly excited which one it ends up being. In either case, i believe Kahboom isn't going to actively stand against Spark and his own co-raiders, unlike Brody who fights him head on. It's an interesting contrast to me already and i wonder how it will go)

But i have no idea what happens here. From the scenery it could be the same scene where Brody and Spark fight, in which case it could be related to how Brody finds out Spark's plan, but literally no idea

This is all we get from the trailer, but this is a speculation post, SO. I really wonder what will happen to Brody and Kahboom now. They both always try to get in bayron's favor.

We don't even know what HAPPENS to Bayron, but i think the options are prison or banishment. Neither do we know what happens to the jester. BUT, the portal Pyralia made was black. So like - either the place she ported him is just dark or sth ORRR she gets better with magic and can make portals to weird magic prison spaces?? I wouldn't bet on that, but i mean it's possible since this season seemingly includes more magic (like we've seen with the skeletons and the violet vale magic apprentices). However, this is all speculation and very vague.

But noww we probably get to explore how well Brody's and Kahboom's devotion to bayron holds up. And This is where it gets INTERESTING. Partially because it's a great opportunity for them to be character foils to each other.

Brody's dependence on his father's approval is NOT good. He had the opportunity in s1 to choose against it and go his own path instead (like arwynn). He didn't do it. Now, with Bayron powerless (in whatever way), he has the opportunity to choose once more. He can either stay with his father (or try and free or help him, depending on what's happened), or - well basically not do that. This is pretty vague though because we don't even know what options he'll have. But, possibly! Possibly he has the opportunity to team up with Arwynn and the rest. It may even be VIA him wanting to help his father (i mean despite battle tactics, he IS his father so it would make a lot of sense). So maybe he is seperated from Bayron, maybe Bayron's in prison or sth and Brody wants to free him. And now, WHO also has Spark as an enemy?? So i'm saying it's possible that he teams up with our heroes due to the common enemy.

With Kahboom, no idea what happens to him. I believe he could well be a foil to Brody's character. But interestingly enough, there are two ways to go about this:

One, he's not THAT important anymore after getting kicked out. In this case, he's being kicked after they turn on bayron. He neither stays really loyal to Bayron NOR is he really trying to let go. So he's overall just being kinda selfish and pays the price (not saying it's entirely fair but well i mean rip to you cause y'all are kinda bad people abjsk). Brody on the other hand is more true to himself and actually fights against the outsider. By this, he gets the chance to continue and actually do something, as opposed to Kahboom who doesn't do anything at all. If Kahboom gets banished or something, he doesn't do anything afterwards either, nothing having worked out and now being too afraid/not seeing the risk worth anything.

Two, Kahboom IS important afterwards but still manages to fuck his stuff up. I could imagine him and Brody trying to team up or at least working towards the same goal of getting the monarchy back in the game. I believe that in this case, they would soon enough seperate/show differences in their actions. Kahboom mostly being focused on getting himself back, and Brody more being in it his father and so possibly being willing to team up with the good guys and maybe laying the ground work for his redemption/healing.

While Kahboom could also team up with the heroes, again, his motive would be more self-centered (he actually did this in a comic once lmao).

In the end, I think Kahboom will find that it doesn't pay off and he's gaining nothing. No matter how it goes, he most likely fails in Some way (like at the end of season 1). Clinging to a person to this extend whose approval is very conditional (so that he doesn't end up getting it), will probs not have been worth all this trouble.

Brody on the other hand, is the character in the Kahboom-Brody rivalry that s1 made us cheer for more by making him have a better core and sweet interactions with arwynn. He is made more likeable. So it would make sense if, unlike Kahboom, he DOESN'T entirely fail again. What if he actually learns now?? Not sure yet how, since i don't know how many redeeming qualities he can really show just yet. But his friendship with Arwynn is POSSIBLY getting a bit of a revival and ko matter how much the Bayron thing ends up succeeding, maybe he'll have learned a bit more that he's NOT depending on his father's approval and that he CAN just fight against Spark because he himself wants to.

But that's my thoughts on that, this got way longer than i expected but i hope some of y'all are reading this cause i kinda worked hard on this tbh acdkcd😭
