Avatar Kahua
So I’ll explain these dorks and the ideas I’ve had. Sorry if at points it just sounds like rambling. Refugees from the different nations were lost at sea during the 100 Years War. At least to the rest of the world. What happened was that a lion turtle would take those lost and take them to an archipelago, a haven from the war, unknown to anyone not shown the way. Initially, with the fear and distrust from the war, the settlers would fight. As years passed, they made peace, and their cultures meshed together, forming one with pieces of the fire nation, earth kingdom, water tribes, and air nomads. Once the fighting is ended, combative bending styles are forgotten, and reshaped for sports or dances. They have been isolated from the rest of the world since, with no knowledge of the end of the War, or the birth of Korra, and the ideas from during the war still remain.
After the death of Avatar Korra, Kahua is born. When it is discovered that Kahua is the Avatar, he is shunned by some folk on the islands, and blamed for his past lives abandoning the world. This often leads to him being bullied or picked on by other kids while he grew up. Giving him many self doubts, making him reserved and shy. His older sister, Apikalia, or Api as Kahua calls her, or Kali to her friends, is a non-bender, but makes up for it with her own agility and skill, becoming the greatest athlete on the islands. Se often uses he skills to protect her little brother from those who pick on him. His best friends are Koa the tortoise-hog, and Keahi, the self-proclaimed best fire dancer on the islands. Cepla is an air bender in the White Lotus that was sent the Avatar. She’s a fresh member, only just given the responsibility to find Kahua, and is eager to get her job done right.
After one particularly bad session, he runs off crying to the lip of a volcano. As his thoughts swirl, he’s driven into the avatar state, and begins to cause the volcano to erupt. As the lava begins to reach the villages below, his older sister runs to find him curled up surrounded by flowing lava. When she manages to make her way over to him, she draws him out of the avatar state. Seeing the damage he is causing, he begins to panic until he starts bending the lava and redirecting it away from the villages. The first on the island to do so. He later uses this ability to expand the island, or build new, smaller islands.
