So, about Bonnie and Kai, I see some ships point of view about the best route could be for them, and some of you was saying that if Bonnie had forgiven him and not taken revenge on him, it could have been an opportunity. After all, she was always forgiving the group that keeps walking all over her, why not Kai, when he was genuinely trying?

And I… disagree.

Hear me out for a second.

I think her being vengeful here was a rare moment of Bonnie being selfish and cold, and I wouldn't take that away from her, I think it's an important moment for the character and she needed to finally have that. The others had their moments and many more times, including Kai.

And I understand that it would be very difficult for him to forgive after that, but if he could, that would make them the ship that I see the potential for, also giving more weight to Kai's attempt to redeem himself, how far he's going, to the point of being selfless like Bonnie once was, that would change their position. That I like.

Bonnie is selfless most of the time, Kai is the opposite, after all he did have no one to actually care for him in the first place.

But Bonnie having someone who can forgive her in her most vile, selfish act that she ever done, is new. It's like someone admiring you even knowing your worst (and Kai is kind like this already for Bonnie).

Is dark, but is a dark potencial anyway.

And it would be like Kai knows that Bonnie is capable of being cruel, but after he manages to forgive her despite everything and she has a new perception of him, he could get to know her soft side, even protective. Something he's not even used to dealing with from anyone. And Bonnie would be very reluctant about it, but it would be like the two of them are offering new opportunities for each other and it could be addictive.

I would love a powerful witch couple like that. They've already brought out the worst of each other, if they also brought out the best, they're a strong and dangerous duo. Since as one, Kai, does not know what unconditional love is, not having it even in his family. Bonnie is pouring this out to so many people and getting so much less in return. It's like someone who is extremely thirsty and someone with a lot of water, but is giving it to people who already has it and just wants a sip. Kai might value this, too much even I would say. That's what I say would be addictive.

(And TVD isn't about relationships with very good people, I don't understand why Julia had so much to say about Kai when the main couple was Delena… like… guys… know your show.

Like, you guys did give as a variety of funcional couples, with good examplar men, so don't be too pick when you didn't have this energy when was to partnering Elena or Caroline, okay?

I don't even know why I said this, this all is for fanfic girlies, the show is over, we don't care what the writers think at this point.)

Kai: Is this why you asked to speak with me? *he snorted*

Damon: I know you have her. Everyone is worried sick for Y/N. *furrows his brows*

Kai: Really? Because the last time I checked – all you did was using her for your own purposes, even though it was draining her out to the point, the blood would flow from her nose and she would fall unconscious. *he narrowed his eyes at Damon*

Damon: No one meant for that to…

Kai: I don’t care for your explanation. You will never know where she is. I will protect her from you all no matter what. She is with me now. *smirks as he leaves Damon speechless in the room*

The so not waited Sunday came faster than you anticipated. You were nervous to see Kai, but even more – to see Bonnie. you were not sure how you were feeling about her. Sure – she was one of your closest friends and you only wished happiness for her, but you could not help feeling a bit envious to her, because she had the love of the man that you loved as well. Probably way more than she did.

“This is not right.” – you whispered under your nose. Those mixed-up emotions were going to lead you nowhere. At least nowhere good. You breathed out heavily and closed your eyes in hope nothing goes wrong. And when you started to think more about it, Hunter tagging along with you to see them may have been not the best idea. You are close as co-workers but nothing else were between you. What is it going to look like, when they will see him with you? Will they think that there is something going on between you? Maybe that wouldn’t be so bad, but you felt bas using him like that.

Suddenly you were brought out of your thoughts by a doorbell. When you opened the door, you saw Hunter standing with a bright smile.

“Hello, Y/N.” – he greeted you warmly. - “I hope I am not too early. I just didn’t want to be late.”

“It is alright. I was already ready, so you were just in time.” – you smiled at him.

You grabbed your purse and keys. Locked the door and you both headed to his car.

“Just to doublecheck, where are we going again? – he asked in a soft voice.

“We will meet them at the small restaurant we went to a few times with Helen and others.” – you smiled at him as well.

“Okay, then let’s get going.” – said with a smile on his lips and started the engine.

‘Dear Lord, I hope everything will go well’ you thought to yourself with a heavy heart.

Bonie hugged you tightly and you saw she was really trying hard not to cry, while Kai was giving strange looks to Hunter.

“I missed you so much.” – she said in a quiet voice. - “And who is that hunk?” – she giggled in your ear, her mood getting brighter.

“Oh yes, I still didn’t introduce you.” – you laughed a bit nervously. - “This is Hunter. We are working together.

“Hello. My name is Bonnie, and this is Malachai.” – she said in a friendly manner.

“What is he doing here?” – Kai said in a displeased voice.

“Kai, don’t be rude!” – Bonnie scolded him. He glared at Hunter then looked at me, waiting for explanation.

You had no idea what to say. You didn’t want to admit to them, that you were uncomfortable to see them alone.

“Y/N said she was meeting some friends, and I had nothing to do so she was nice enough to ask me to tag along.” – he smiled.

Bonnie nudged you on the side and smiled. It was clear to you what she was thinking.

“I see. Still, she should have said about it first.” – Kai didn’t even try to hide his dissatisfaction.

“I am sorry.” – you said in a silent voice. Atmosphere was uncomfortable and you tried to think how to change subject.

“Let’s sit and order something, I am starving!” – Bonnie laughed trying to lighten up the mood. All of you agreed and sat down.

Everything was going better then you anticipated. Bonie and Hunter kept on speaking non-stop, so there were never any uncomfortable silent. Though Kai wasn’t looking that good. He was glaring at Hunter and giving him dirty looks all the time. You tried to think of what the matter could be, but nothing came to your mind.

Meanwhile Kai himself was not sure, he just knew – he did not like to see Hunter next to you. It annoyed him to think, that he is close to you. That is not his place. Only Kai as your best friend deserved to receive your warm smile and gentle touch.

“Kai? Did you hear what I said? – Bonnie asked him a bit annoyed.

“Sorry, my mind is a bit cloudy. I need some fresh air. – he mumbles and walks outside.

“I am going to check on him.” – Bonnie sights and stands up from the table. “Sorry about that. I don’t know what is wrong with him today.” – she sights again and leaves.

“I would like to say your friends are nice and I don’t understand why you would feel uncomfortable to see then by yourself, but I kind of can see why.” – he gives you half lip smile.

“Usually, he is not like that. I am sorry for his behaviour.” – you said in a sad voice.

“Don’t worry.” – smiled gently at you and then softly touched your face. “I am more worried about you. How are you doing? You didn’t speak much during this time.” – said in concerned voice.

His touch took you by surprise. You were about to say that you are okay, but you have been interrupted.

“What are you doing?” – you heard Kai’s angry voice.

“Kai?” – you said confused as you turned round to meet his face.

He looked furious. If he could kill with a look – Hunter would have been long dead by now.

“Kai, that is enough! What is wrong with you? Are you jealous of him or something? Why are you making a scene?!” – Bonnie looked really upset.

Her words hit the spot. Kai was a little confused, but more than that – he wanted to rip the arm off, that he touched her with. How dares he to touch her so recklessly?!

‘Maybe I AM jealous’ Kai thought to himself, but he was not going to say that out loud. She was the first person he connected with. It was natural for him to be overprotected. At least that was what he thought.

“I just don’t like him being so close to Y/N. We don’t know him.” – Kai grits his teeth.

“He looks like a nice guy! What got into you?” – she looked at him and after at me. “They look good together. Y/N does look like she likes him, and you are her friend. You should support whatever makes her happy and help her. Why are you being so overprotective over her? – she narrows her eyes.

This was getting out of your hands. Your eyes kept looking from one person to another. You were so confused even your head started to throb.

“Please stop.” – you said quietly as you pressed your fingers against your temples.

“It’s better if we go. Y/N is not feeling well.” – said Hunter. His voice didn’t sound gentle anymore. He looked angry as well. He helped you up and pulled you closer to him for support.

Kai was burning inside. He wanted to rip you out of his arms and take you into his.

“Bonnie, I am leaving Kai to you. Sorry for everything.” – you tried to smile. Your hands were shaking, head by now was about to explode. All you wanted was to go home and lay down in your bed.

“I am sorry too. Hunter – it was nice to meet you. Please take care of Y/N.

“It was nice to meet you too.” – he nodded and before anyone could say anything else, you and Hunter were gone behind entrance door.

“I was not done with him.” – Kai grits his teeth.

“No, you were done. – Bonnie said coldly. -” And now that they left, I believe we have something to talk about.” – she looked dead serious. - “Tell me, what the hell was that all about? You not only acted like an ass, but…” – she stopped speaking. ‘It cannot be’ she thought to herself, then looked up at Kai. He was still looking at the door witch you left this place through. – “Kai, do you have feelings for Y/N?

Kol: Through this time, we know each other I believe we are getting closer. You should really think of what I said last time, love. *smirks at you and looks at Kai, who just recently appeared and you still didn’t notice his presence here*

Y/N: Kol, I am with Kai. *you breath out heavily*

Kol: I am way much better choice then him, and deep down you know I am right. *says as he comes closer and gently brushes his fingertips against your cheek*

You blush and step back in a surprise from his touch. This is crazy. You love Kai, but you can not lie to yourself – recently you had this indescribable feeling growing inside of your heart for this old and seductive vampire.

Kai: That is enough. Leave before I run out of patience. *he spoke from behind your back in irritated voice*

You turn around and see Kai glaring at Kol with eyes full of anger.

Kol: Okay little lover boy. No need for violence. *he laughed with his palms up in surrender* Y/N – I will see you soon.* says in a flirty voice and disappears the next second without giving Kai a second look*

Y/N: Kai, I can explain… *you start, but stop when you see his sad face*

Kai: Do you like him? *says quietly*

When you don’t respond immediately, you can see that he becomes heartbroken.

Kai: Do you still love me? *whispers*

Y/N: Of course! * you answer without a doubt in your voice and hug him tightly* I love you without a doubt!

You felt that he wanted to say something, but instead he just sighted and held you closer to him.

Kai: I will never give you to him. You belong with me. *says in a strong voice and kisses your forehead*

It was already a few days that you haven’t see him. You missed him more then he could imagine but, he had to understand that he was in trouble. He risked his life for nothing, and you were too angry to see him. You were pulled out from your deep thoughts by a ringtone of your cell phone.

Damon: Hey Y/N, how are you doing?

Y/N: I am fine? *you were suspicious. His voice sounded different from usual *

Damon: Good to know. Look, here is someone who wants to speak with you…

Y/N: No. He needs to learn his lesson. I will see him when my anger will calm down. *you said in a firm voice*

Kai: She is so sexy when she gets angry. *you hear from the other end of the call giggling Kai’s voice*

Damon: Whatever happened – you guys need to short it out. I am not his therapist. I will not be consulting him with every small emotion. He is your trouble so take care of it. *said in a grumpy tone*

Y/N: Okay, okay. Tell him to come over to my place.* you breathed out heavily*

Damon: He will be there in a minute. I will personally deliver him to you. *in your head you could see him grinning*

Y/N: You will take him here?

Damon: Of course. I would never miss a good show. *he laughed loudly* It is always fun to see you kicking his ass.

Y/N: You are being silly. *you blush at him being sweet to you*

Kai: Me loving you - will never be silly. *smiles and gently cups your face and kisses your lips* Tough you still being shy after all this time of us being together - is pretty silly. *he giggles and kisses the tip of your nose*

Your cheeks flushed red, and you hid your face in his warm and firm chest. There are just some things that will never change.

You were terrified. When you stepped back a few steps, your back bumped into your front door. Suddenly you saw some sparks in the air and the light in the living room went off.

“Who is he?” – he furrowed his eyebrows. His face expression looked as scary as never before. He started to head your way.

“Colleague.” – you said quietly. Your heart was about to jump out of your chest. What is he doing here? How did he find you?

“Colleague?” – he raised his brows and smiled bitterly as he kept on walking towards you.

“Yes.” – you basically whispered. As your heartbeat kept on rising you started to feel nauseous.

When he finally stopped walking, he was standing here, right in front of you. You couldn’t make yourself to pick up your head and just kept staring at his shoes.

“Y/N. Why you ran away?” – now he whispered. His tone wasn’t angry or scarry anymore. He sounded hurt.

“I had to.” – you said silently in a shaky voice.

“But why?” – his voice started to shake as well.

You never thought not only that he would come looking for you but that he would be so heartbroken.

“I just had to. Please. Don’t ask anymore.” – you whispered as you tried to hold back your tears.

“This won’t do. You need to explain to me why you ran away without telling anyone where you were going. And for how long. I was going crazy.” – his voice shook, and he lowered his head to rest on your shoulder.

“How did you find me?” – you lifted your head and closed your eyes. You can not cry. You mustn’t cry.

“Bonnie did a locator spell.” – he said quietly. “Now tell me. Why? Why did you tried to disappear from our, no, most importantly – my life?” – you felt how your shoulder started to become damp. You bit your lip and tried to think of an answer without telling him the truth. And then, a thought popped in your head. So what? What will happen if you tell him about your true feelings for him? What will change? You both are already suffering so what it is to change if you tell him the real reason behind your escape from Mystic Falls?

“Malachai…” – you started but he cut in.

“You are my best friend. The closest person to me that I ever had. I can not loose you. You mean so much more than anyone in this world to me. I couldn’t take it.” – he said in a shaky voice. You knew he was trying to hold back his tears, but it was just too much for him.

You breathed out heavily as you thought to yourself ‘I can not do this to him.’.

“I am sorry. I truly am.” – you whispered as you could not contain yourself anymore and tears started to roll down your face. You loved him more then you could ever care for yourself. Even if it means to break your heart yourself over and over again.

“Y/N, it was driving me crazy. You started to act weird and then out of blue you disappeared from Mystic Falls. I didn’t know what to think or what to do. For the first time in my life, I felt so desperate and lost. Useless. Worthless… “- suddenly he hugged so strong you even yelped.

His words hit you hard. You hugged him back and buried your face in his shoulder. You hated to see him like this. You never wanted for him to feel this way again.

“You are none of those. You are so much more then you can see yourself. Never think so low of yourself again.” – you whispered and hugged him tighter.

“Don’t ever leave like that again.” – he whispered as he snuggled to you.

You didn’t know how to respond. You didn’t want him to hurt anymore, but you knew if you go back to Mystic Falls it will destroy you. Though you are ready to sacrifice yourself for his happiness, deep inside you still had a small doubt.

“I am going to take you home. Everyone is worried and misses you.” – his voice sounded a bit brighter.

“Kai, maybe I should stay here.” – you said in a quiet tone.

Fast he lifted his head. He grabbed your face and looked you deep in the eyes. Like he could see the depths of your soul.

“Why? What is wrong? What happened so bad that you don’t want to go back?” – he looked terrified.

“Kai, I really can not speak about this.” – you said through tears.

“Y/N, do you not trust me?” – he looked deeply hurt.

“It is not that. I trust you. Truly. I just can’t speak about it. It hurts too much.” – you said as you closed your eyes. It hurt. It hurt really bad. You wanted to crawl out of your skin and shout at the top of your lungs.

“So, it is related to Mystic Falls. Who hurt you this bad?” – he whispered as he brushed his fingertips against your wet cheek. He pulled his sleeve and tried to wipe your tears off, but it was no use because they would not stop and wet your cheeks all over again.

You just shook your head asking not to speak about it anymore and put your head against his shoulder.

He gently patted your head and stay silent for some time. It wasn’t uncomfortable. And you did miss him a lot, so in one way you were happy to see him even though at the same time it hurt you. After an hour or so, he pulled off gently and kissed your forehead.

“I need to go. If you want to stay here, I am not going to force to come with me. But I am begging you – if you really care about me, don’t disappear like that again. And if you don’t want to visit us in Mystic Falls, we will come to see you. Just, keep in touch with me. Please.” – he pleaded.

“Okay.” – you said quietly.

“Bonnie and Elena will be so happy. We will come to see you soon. I promise.” – he smiled brightly and hugged you again. Then he left without realising how terrible your face looked. You were not ready to see him all lovey-dovey with Bonnie. And you don’t know if you ever will.

A few days passed. Kai called you a few times and you had a small chat. Bonnie called as well. She cried and shouted at you but eventually calm down and decided to visit me on Sunday. I took a deep breath as I was cleaning bars top counter.

“Did something happen? For a few days you look stressed. And sad.” – Hunter looked sincerely worried about you.

“A friend visited. Long story.” – you breathed out heavily. “And now a few of them are coming to see me on Sunday. I don’t know how I am feeling about it.” – you bit your bottom lip. He was a good guy. You got along with Hunter pretty good.

“If you feel so uncomfortable about their visit, why you don’t cancel?” – he looked puzzled.

“I can’t. Don’t ask me why, I just can’t. “- you closed your eyes and took a deep breath.

“Then… If you want, I could tag along. Maybe that would make you feel a bit more comfortable.” – he smiled at you with a kind smile.

Damn. This might go wrong on so many levels, but you didn’t want to meet them alone.

“I think that would be really nice.” – you smiled at him and prayed, that you didn’t do a big mistake.
